So that's Cat 1 Academy and now new revised plans for the new stand both within the space of a week. The doom merchants won't like this.

Submitting two lots of planning applications is a bit more than just talk.

You are wasting your breath SR.

The doom merchants have taken over the asylum. No new stand, Worrall will be sold, Mighten will be sold, Johnson will be sold, no cat 1 Academy. Taylor's brainwashed them all.

We all want to see it done, and some scepticism is natural. But you don't just submit two lots of detailed planning applications on a whim. It's clearly not just 'all talk.'

I have been looking at the revised plans on line. Forest are looking & pushing for full planning for the stand which means if granted they can start pretty quickly as I believe they have already appointed a main contractor. It appears that the main issue was that it was an initial hybrid application as Forest wanted planning for the adjacent apartments which would help pay for the development when fully sold. This new application/revised submission is now in part for outline planning of the apartments, thereby technically separating the application to enable the ground rebuild to move forward quickly, also they have now reduced the number of flats down from an initial 250 to 170 plus lowered the overall height of the construction.
I see this very much as good news so hopefully the female planning officer in charge at Rushcliffe is a Forest fan and gets on with recommending approval!

Also looks like we are not forcing the boat clubs to move which I know was a point of outcry (edit) [actually looks like we are still moving one further down the trent] well it looks like from these photos that this Twitter account has pulled from the plans I also haven’t looked through them all yet.

It's always been structured as a hybrid application. The football club won't build and sell the flats themselves, they'll obtain the outline planning permission for them and sell them on to a developer who will submit a further planning application, and build them out. As you say, the stand will be approved in full allowing a start presumably at the end of this next season.

I've had a quick scan through the drawings too. The stand is predominantly the same although now the club have stated that the shop will be located in the Trent End corner. For some reason the last scheme was always sketchy in that regard. It either hadn't been bottomed out, or maybe the club were trying to keep their options open. I'm still not convinced by the way this corner building relates to the new stand, the trent end stand and the riverside location. It still looks bolted on as an afterthought to me and doesn't respond to the riverside setting. But everyone's got an opinion. I'll give Benoy's the benefit of the doubt.

The flats are much more sensible now. Gone is that ridiculous tower they proposed and it's been replaced by a more modestly sized structure that will relate to the civic centre flats. Much better all round really. The boat clubs look really out of scale so I'm sure the members will be along shortly to stick their oar's in!

The new single building for the flats does look really nice especially with its sloping height it does compliment the new waterfront apartments really nicely.

Hopefully these revised plans will be sufficient for RBC to approve them and the club can set about getting the construction carried out as soon as possible.

I can't wait to see the old stand pulled down and the new one built with a bigger capacity now
