What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy
Happy that we haven't been linked to any Mendes clients so far this window.

It looks as if we have changed course.

I have not seen him linked for a while either despite being heavily linked, I have just noticed they have been very very active this week in the market and may well free up players to go on loan.

Who scouts our players in england. Wasn't Simon Ireland appointed for a short spell?

That's what I've always thought but some recent comments from Daniel Taylor, suggesting that internally and externally he was regarded as being a duff signing, have me thinking differently.

He was embarrassing that one game. Brighton fans said he was carp prior to him leaving. Waste of money unless it was always the plan for oly to sign him for a fee.

Looks like players who are used to the English game this window...so far. Not lads here for a holiday.

I do think signs of improving the squad and positive although this may not sound like it as I am Not sure the signing of Colback will push us on, he was neat and tidy last time he was here but we didn’t do that good and now he has not played for a year and had a bad injury, guess he is replacing Watson.

So pleased Lyle Taylor, think he will be just what we need (and on a free) but again will that be enough for us to make a real go for
Promotion, especially if we start selling the likes of Cash, Riberio, Lolly and Worrall. Build on them rather than sell and concentrate on getting rid of the deadwood.

Wouldn’t be adverse to selling Grabban if we can get a good fee, and bring in another striker or two to compete with Lyle

Like to see owner push his ship (he has a few) out and really go for it. We need passion, investment and ambition. Are we likely to make any significant investment for this window while FFP rules are relaxed (or using some of the Derby loopholes)

Long and short term strategy
Everyone is entitled to my opinion - COYR  :)

Looking at the players we are signing or rumoured to be after got me thinking on playing style/formations for the new season. Sabri tried 3 at the back and wing backs on 2/3 occasions last year which back-fired on all occasions if I recall the players at his disposal just could not adapt to the new formation. Has he and the club learned what we as supporters have know for many a season that you need to score plenty of goals to have a chance of promotion? The number of CH we are linked with would indicate that this is indeed the case and would allow us to play two forwards especially in our home games, we could also revert to type for difficult away games which mostly worked for us during the past season, any thoughts on this?

Most definitely a change of direction Sniff going on our 3 signings so far.

Very pleased.

From the rumours of Ioannou and Blackett we are certainly after a left sided centre back which is fine. I wondered if he wants the 3 centre back option too, but if so and Cash goes (certain he still will go) we do not have a right back capable of playing as a wing back.
Alternatively if we are bringing in someone because a centre back is sold we have always assumed that will be Worrall. Could it not be Figs? He would be worth a bit and I do wonder if Sabri has lost a bit of confidence in him from the recent capitulations.

Surely Darikwa (if fully recovered) would be ideal.as a wing back, suits him more than being a RB. I'd prefer to see him above Jenkinson tbh.
