No it wasnt, they only went for Jenkinson after Darikwa was injured.
But thats not really the point, nor is the fact that Cash turned out to be far better at RB than anyone suspected. What I am driving at is that our transfer strategy tends to be reactive and they end up with Players who dont fit the system. Changing manager every 6 months doesnt help either of course. Go back to Brentfords model, they will be looking at what gaps they need to fill in a year or mores time. Lets say Ribeiro has another storming year and we still dont get promoted, he will probably be next seasons sacrifice to the PL. So we should be looking ahead now for someone to fill his boots, Who plays the same way, thats what Brentford would do, thats what having a strategy is about.

I think Modesto and Anigo should be replaced by Salvatore and Widdow with immediate effect

I’ll happily do it for half of their salary, Sniff. I wouldn't have signed Bong either. :)

Maybe we can have a COYR fans forum player transfer committee, we cant do much worse then previous recruitment teams in the past!

Its a nice idea JL but I should warn you that back in 1994 I was hugely excited that we had signed Gary Bull and told anyone who would listen that Collymore would be a waste of money.

Not at the moment. That is where I am at. It's obvious I think that there is going to be big changes to our squad and allegedly an upgrade in the players we are targeting. That will mean that one or two players will be sacificed which is ok, I get that but that is the easy bit. Who are these alleged upgrades going to be and can we get the deals for these upgrades over the line? That is the hard bit.

The only thing I've seen is a suggestion that they've resolved to improve from what happened in January. As that was a calamitous clusterf**k then that's not much of a challenge.

I presume this is what Sabri, EM and Modesto are discussing.

Diakhaby , walker and bong would be ok for a team chasing league 1 promotion . I think it was obvious to most at the time that it was disastrous. A quick Google search is all these guys need to do.

I will put my tin hat on but I reckon that Bong might turn out to be OK. I suppose we will find out when Ribeiro is injured or suspended. We haven't really seen him yet to be fair.

It does seem in hindsight that walkers return was to fan appeasement and that the boss rates mighten over him now from how he was used since the restart.
