What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy
Hughton thought Bong was good enough. I’d trust his judgement every time over the impatient fans who’ve written him off after one game for us.

As for Walker, hopefully we can get a League 1 club to pay money for him in this window. He’s nearly 24 now and has had enough opportunities to demonstrate he isn’t up to the standard required for the Championship.

My uncle is a Brighton fan and he rated him..... we saw him for one game when he hadn’t played for months and was left back to Diakhaby.... you never know!

Exactly. I will take my tin hat off now.

Agreed. Bong didn't play well in his 1 appearance, but that doesn't mean he's terrible. Jenkinson played terrible in the same game, most of the team was.

After looking at the reports about what brendford are requesting for their players who are good but i wouldn't say a world beaters. I whole heartly support the clubs policy about finding unknown talent we just need to be better at it.

Sorry but if 25million is the going rate for a striker who is an established player in the championship then i say stuff that. No championship club can afford that and we are better off going to try find a hidden gem and take the risk.

The idea is sound but the scouting is not.

That's what I've always thought but some recent comments from Daniel Taylor, suggesting that internally and externally he was regarded as being a duff signing, have me thinking differently.

Agreed, just get them in on short contracts so we don't have them hanging around for years if duff.

Going rates have gone through the window.

We'll have to see how this window goes.

Prudence. FFP. Better. Shrewder buys. Players who can stick the muck and nettles of the Championship.

Looking at the players we have been linked with so far that seems to be the case ^^

Have we shifted course from Iberian/French based/connected to British based players?

I think so. I read somewhere that Modesto really clicked up the miles last year checking on British based players. Anigo is the one that does foreign transfers. Can still see a mix ending up here. It’s getting rid of unwanted that is a priority. Same manager - can’t see him change his opinion of the bomb squad.

We want players who can handle themselves.

Not roll around when their ankles get tapped.

Burns...Larry...Bomber...Gemmil...

Bit of the old nasty.

Eg. Colback. Has a "what the f£&@ are you looking at?" Face. And he can tackle.

We signed too many weak minded softies who are not mentally tough enough for the Championship. Or too shy to knock on the managers door to ask why they ain't playing...

News flash to recruitment .
