Are we patient enough to ride it out and hope the squad learn to adapt, despite it looking pretty ropey and some players ill-suited?
I worry that not enough of the fanbase are.

Palace last few years were pretty successful with it too.
We even used it a few times last year successfully in the EL in particular under Vitor.
We have the CBs, this system is allowing Mcatee to develop, it utilises potential strengths of the squad in Munoz, it allows MGW to play in probably his best position as a wide forward.
We created our most chances in an away game for years, it is working, just failed to execute.
I would personally put in Sangare over Schlager, just to give us slightly more cover.

Do we have the CB's? Are they mobile enough to play it? The jury's out on that one for me.
This system has taken away the quality we had in the full back positions in Neco and Aina. Both their games have been compromised. Milenkovic looks lost, another strong point for us gone.
Im worried that Glasner is a slave to his system, in a similar way to what Amorin was at Man Utd.
But we've only seen the downsides really so far. Lets hope theres better to come.

He should be settled in now, OG clearly rates him and we should see the best of him this season. He’s been hit or miss so far this year but certainly that first half on Sunday he was a joy to watch.
Delap is younger and is still settling in, make that sort of miss a few more times and unfortunately stick will come his way like any other player.
The one who probably needs to come under the microscope much more is Murillo. Expect much better from Diomande too but again he gets a pass for now due to adapting to a new and unsettled team.
N'Doye's issue is his style makes him appear that he's not working hard (whether he is or not is up for debate). I will say that he is probably one of our better, if not best finishers that are starting right now. Feel like he's better at shooting than MGW and Mcatee certainly. Mcatee could be really good this year if he could improve his end product, I do think we need to stick with him too. Surprised Sangare hasn't come back in alongside him yet.
Yeah what do you do with Murillo? Ride it out and hope the games will help him raise his level?
Ndoye reminds me a lot of Brennan, he gets more than his fair share of stick from fans (of all his clubs).
He has 2 goals already this season, could easily have had more and is currently our top scorer. I think this is going to be a productive year for him. Most importantly Glasner appears to rate and trust him.

So it appears that we have lost to 3 teams this season that play a back five, were they a better teams then us? are the current Forest squad unable to adapt playing this system? would we have won playing 442 in these games?

Leeds and Palace have been playing it a lot longer.
The system was not the reason we lost to Palace though, it was the missed chances.

We did see the positives against Liverpool, Villa and Palace. Created way more chances than we have done previously.
We were also previously near the top of the xG conceded stats so we haven't been giving up tons of chances till this weekend. Honestly think the system looks good.

Leeds switched to 3 cb's mid way through last season and haven't looked back. They took to it like a duck to water. Cov don't normally play 3 cb's (as I understand) but changed when they came to us and beat us on our own pitch at the first game playing this way. I just can't understand why Glasner's system takes so much getting used to for his players. He's renowned for making slow starts at every club he goes to.
I'm really trying to be open minded about the whole thing (the system) but I don't like it so far. Glasner's history suggests it gets better, I'm clinging on to that hope.

But conceded 6 goals in those 3 games. I wouldn't say it looks good personally, I'd describe it as a work in progress.

Against Villa and Liverpool, we didn't give tons of chances away though. Liverpool got that one goal from an excellent strike, Villa's came against the run of play too. I think it's reasonable to expect this to balance out eventually. Not saying we're a top 5 team or anything, just that I think we've broadly played like a midtable team and haven't quite got the points we've deserved.
Not to mention we've had three very questionable VAR decisions, all of which have gone against us that have cost us multiple points. In a very small sample of 6 games, that is pretty unlucky and has had a big impact. If any one of those three decisions goes our way, we may have another win in the books.

Yep, can't disagree with any of that Wassy. I'd take a mid table season this season if offered. A stable foundation from which to push on.

Its funny because the first few games under the system we were saying how dull the football was as we were compact and didnt look likely to score or concede.
Now its wide open. Definitely some tinkering needed / going on.
