Yes he should have just cushioned the ball in hindsight but he hit it really well and on target, it was actually an unbelievable save. Its not as if he spooned it over the stand. Seen plenty better strikers miss chances like that, give the lad a break. If our defending had been up to scratch it wouldn’t have mattered.

N’Doye has two goals this season and gets no love from our support, in fact he can make one mistake and be the devil incarnate but others are allowed to do little to nothing and get more love.

Lets not forget this lad cost us £40m and we've had 3 prem goals from him amd maybe 2 or 3 decent performances. Criticism of him has been entirely justified imo. Hopefully he's turned a corner now though. Fingers crossed.

He’ll be consistently inconsistent, which winger isn’t in this league.

Had he missed the chances that Delap did on Sunday people would be burning effergies.

And Delap cost more than N’Doye so I’m not sure what we paid for him is relevant.

I’m not digging Delap out by the way, just wish the fanbase got behind all the players equally albeit some folk would rather be right than do that.

Ndoye doesn’t get as much slack due to his experience, he has over 90 appearances across Serie A and PL and 41 senior appearances for Switzerland. He should be settled in now, OG clearly rates him and we should see the best of him this season. He’s been hit or miss so far this year but certainly that first half on Sunday he was a joy to watch.

Delap is younger and is still settling in, make that sort of miss a few more times and unfortunately stick will come his way like any other player.

The one who probably needs to come under the microscope much more is Murillo. Expect much better from Diomande too but again he gets a pass for now due to adapting to a new and unsettled team.

N'Doye's issue is his style makes him appear that he's not working hard (whether he is or not is up for debate). I will say that he is probably one of our better, if not best finishers that are starting right now. Feel like he's better at shooting than MGW and Mcatee certainly. Mcatee could be really good this year if he could improve his end product, I do think we need to stick with him too. Surprised Sangare hasn't come back in alongside him yet.

Yeah what do you do with Murillo? Ride it out and hope the games will help him raise his level?

I am all for switching back to a back four.

Murillo and Williams look lost in the present system.

A back four and Sangare and CHO back in the team plus Murillo and Williams back to their best.
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

I am with Sniffer on this one back four every time, either the players change or OG?????

If you want a manager who we stick with for 2 years or more then get used to a back 3 because he isn’t changing it.

Are we patient enough to ride it out and hope the squad learn to adapt, despite it looking pretty ropey and some players ill-suited?

Tell me Sal how many current PL teams play 5 at the back these days?

Chelsea.

Thats about it? Been successful before bit out of fashion. Is that a bad thing?

My problem isn’t the formation, more that the current squad with a few exceptions look ill suited and to be fair most were originally signed with the intention of playing them differently.

Agree Sal, we do not at present have the players to go with OG's system. Should we scale back a little and bring those players in over the next 2 transfer windows. Play safe when possible with a system that the majority of the existing squad are familiar with?

Not happening.
OG has full belief it will come good
If we’d been 3 up at HT all would be good
