I see the Nottingham rowing club or boat club or whatever it is have objected to our new plans that we submitted.

I think its the Union club, used to be a social member there in the early 70's some great groups performed live that went on to bigger things. Anybody on the forum remember DJ Petal? Anyway as I understand it the objection will not carry much weight with the planners, also a bit of sour grapes as the Notting Boat club is to be rebuilt other side of the BC stand plus I also beleive that they are having an investment by Forest, Do you think the big man will take the rowing club under his sports brand at Forest Sniffer?

Not concrete but heard some whispers that Forest might have bought the land near Lady bay where the Environmental Agency is.

Would be ideal to shift the boat clubs down there for any redevelopment if true.

Sounds good. So glad we have an owner showing ambition. I think it’s obvious by now, with clubs that haven’t historically been huge like Birmingham building a 60,000 stadium, even Derby now have a Saudi billionaire interested, if we don’t go big and ambitious we won’t even be in the top division in terms of capacity and associated revenue, with the associated impact on being able to afford and attract players.

I’d also be very interested to hear if there are plans to make it easier for people travelling from a distance to attend matches. This is probably most relevant to midweek matches, when for example there are no train services if you live in London. But even if you drive, getting away is tough, and if it gets worse and with work the next day it’s difficult. And obviously most matches are on tv so there’s a fallback. If we get back in Europe and have a slew of Thursday night matches again, or even just have the larger capacity, we need it to be practical for people to travel from outside Nottingham.

Thankfully never had issues getting away, most midweeks i can be back in Deeside before midnight. In terms of public transport, not sure what the club can do to be fair?
