I have said on this forum many time over the season that we lack an inspiring leader on the pitch, although these type of players are like gold dust and not always top notch performers they are the backbone of most of the successful teams over the years.
We literally still have to play the one of the worst teams in PL history, that's clearly our best chance to win a game.
As for this inspiring leader stuff, let it go. It's completely unquantifiable. What are you expecting this player to do, miraculously head every corner away?
We're not getting enough points primarily due to poor finishing from the likes of Elanga and Origi and poor defensive organisation at corners.

The promotion season was more fun in my opinion. I want to stay in the premier league but you get about 3 happy moments a season
Premier league is like a designer label that costs a fortune and people only wear for the badge but the championship is like a pair of joggers you can wear to the arcade and on the sofa - more fun
Which games were more fun?

I agree. I think that the Palace and Wolves games were the best opportunities that we had in the run-in. I also agree about the leadership point. The huge turnover of players has created a squad where we’ve had to get rid of experienced players and bring in players who haven’t been in a relegation battle in the premier league before. We’ve ended up losing experienced players like Colback, Grabban, Cook, Worrall etc. who all know the club and are natural leaders (albeit none of them are up to Prem standard). I think our more youthful recruitment is a good thing, but it does leave a gap in terms of leadership. Hopefully this is something that can develop as our squad grows

They weren't fun at all, felt so much pressure going into every game.

A majority of them were pretty turgid, sprinkled with moments of joy.
And that was a season where we were competitive and successful!

Yes they were our best opportunities but other clubs look at us and see it as an opportunity to get 3 points too, I do however agree whatever league we are in next season we need experience, we need to recruit a captain.

While I agree to an extent about leadership its worth noting that Sels, Dominguez and Niakhate were all captains of their previous clubs. Also Wood is captain for his country.
Last season we also had Freuler and Kouyate who were captains at their previous clubs.

Ultimately, looking at our respective run in with Luton and I start to worry. They've got a lot mid table teams to play that have not much to play for.
Plus Luton have 3 at home - against Brentford (safe), Everton (could be safe), Fulham (safe). There away games aren't that challenging with west ham and Wolves.
Precisely. I am not hopeful at all. We simply had to win this game today.
We did. i think we are now favourites to finish in the relegation places
How do you work that one out?
We are 1 place and 1 point above Luton on the same number of games and our goal difference is much better than theirs.
We just need to equal or better Lutons results and we are safe. So how can we be favourites to go down?
Because they have easier games at home. Brentford and Fulham are both safe and flakey away from home. Luton are difficult on their own patch. We have the best team in the world and a talented but unpredictable Chelsea. Does anyone think we are winning consecutive games away from home after the results over the last two seasons. Everton are scrapping for their lives, Burnley still have an outside chance and sheffield utd would like nothing more than relegating us. That’s why we are favourites to go down
Not according to the bookies
Luton 4/7 - 66% probability
Forest 2/1 - 33% probability
That’s the bookies not fans of either clubs

SM there is a very big difference between a captain of a football team and a real leader, this is what we have been missing over the last 2 seasons and this particular season along with many new and younger players in the team we are paying the price as heads drop to easily.

Who was the so called real leader we had when we got promoted?
