Ultimately, looking at our respective run in with Luton and I start to worry. They've got a lot mid table teams to play that have not much to play for.
Plus Luton have 3 at home - against Brentford (safe), Everton (could be safe), Fulham (safe). There away games aren't that challenging with west ham and Wolves.
Precisely. I am not hopeful at all. We simply had to win this game today.
We did. i think we are now favourites to finish in the relegation places
How do you work that one out?
We are 1 place and 1 point above Luton on the same number of games and our goal difference is much better than theirs.
We just need to equal or better Lutons results and we are safe. So how can we be favourites to go down?
Because they have easier games at home. Brentford and Fulham are both safe and flakey away from home. Luton are difficult on their own patch. We have the best team in the world and a talented but unpredictable Chelsea. Does anyone think we are winning consecutive games away from home after the results over the last two seasons. Everton are scrapping for their lives, Burnley still have an outside chance and sheffield utd would like nothing more than relegating us. That’s why we are favourites to go down
We are so bad away, and Luton are so difficult on their on patch? But we are awful away from home and they only just managed to snatch a draw against us?

How many games have we won away from home in the last two seasons. Last week Luton beat Bournemouth at home. Bournmouth are on a good run of form. we haven’t beat them for a long time. Personally, looking at the fixtures they have got better opportunities for two victories than we do. If we win at Everton the pendulum swings again but that is going to be one hell of a scrap.

+1
My biggest concern is the one uncontrolable element left in our season - the appeal. Sort it now and let everyone know what is happening!

The promotion season was more fun in my opinion. I want to stay in the premier league but you get about 3 happy moments a season
Premier league is like a designer label that costs a fortune and people only wear for the badge but the championship is like a pair of joggers you can wear to the arcade and on the sofa - more fun

I dont get people being scared about Luton playing at home where they've got 15pts from 16 games? Our 3 away games are against the two worst home teams and the 4th worst. Guess who the 3rd worst is? Thats right, Luton.
Last year we got 30pts at home from 19 games, if Luton were on track to match that i'd be scared, but they wont even match Leicester or Leeds who got 20 from 19 games. I know Luton try hard, but lets be honest, Luton are just shit.
Our away record is already better than last year and we've not actually played the worst teams yet. We're going into 2 of our three away matches as favourites and even with our bad away record its not even close to the worst in the league. Something like 4pts away & 1pt at home with 1pt of our deduction coming back will see us safe before we even play Burnley imo.

In your opinion maybe.
But many of us want our team playing at the top level, against elite teams, competing against elite players and elite managers etc.
You might enjoy and think it's fun having Gary Rowett in the dug out and playing shit clubs like Birmingham and Millwall every week but most of us would prefer Pep or Klopp in the dug out and playing against some of Europes best every week.

Well we need to get used to it again. I don’t want us back there. Let’s hope is not for another 23 miserable years

Whilst I agree, it is a Catch 22 situation caused mainly by ourselves. We have spent money but not spent it well (generally). I know we only had 7 players when we got promoted and went up through the play offs so i can accept last season's approach. But this has come back to bite us on the backside this year. The points deduction is a consequence of this.
Money has not been spent well generally this season. I think Dominguez, Murillo, Sels and Elanga were shrewd buys and improvements. Not so sure about others.
Next season's approach will need to be more circumspect and considered. No more points deductions.

Exactly so like I said on another thread we have never had it so good for the last 25 years so why all the doom and gloom?
Nobody said that this PL lark is easy but that doesn't mean that it has to be miserable and all doom and gloom.
Personally win, lose or draw I love our club being part of the best league in the world because that is what it is.

I think (it's only my opinion) but the game yesterday was our BEST chance of collecting all 3 points out of the remaining games. Lets not kid ourselves we will all but probably playing Championship football next season and this is from a die hard Forest fan going down to WFCG as a boy in the mid 60's, we will bounce back within 2 seasons or so but during this period we have to build a team with leaders and winners that includes the management, sadly we do have this at present. I have said on this forum many time over the season that we lack an inspiring leader on the pitch, although these type of players are like gold dust and not always top notch performers they are the backbone of most of the successful teams over the years.
