NFFC Financial Talk
Agreed SM and Jack.

I think if the worst case scenario happens then 99% on here will be understanding and supportive.

Just the usual suspects like Widdow and Psychostooge will no doubt be piping up just like they always do at the first sign of any trouble (very rarely see them when things are going well) but we can live with that.

Nothing is happening this week just an FA replay and possible 6 pointer next Saturday

You can’t sing “30 signings, who gives a f***” then complain when it comes back to bite you. Nor am I blaming Forest, what the club and ownership decided was to give ourselves the maximum opportunity to stay in the Premier League. We had to play on the edge to have a fighting chance, it worked but it came at a cost.

We didnt cheat, we didn’t break the rules. But maybe we have bent them just a touch too far and if that’s the case, so be it and get on with the rest of the season. I will repeat this post IF that’s how it all pans out,  there is little point in getting worked up about it all.

I hope you are including DT and all his rimmers in that what you have said above.

What do you mean? That DT (and plenty other journalists) will firmly blame Marinakis I assume?

No idea but I stand by my opinion. Possibly not what I would have done in the same situation but Im not a billionaire owner of a football club. However thats the path Forest have taken and last season it achieved the desired result and we as fans were on board with it. So if there are consequences then we take it on the chin and move on.

Absolutely correct. We have a brilliant and generous owner who has put us in a position we could only dream of a few years ago when some of us turned up at the car park and protest against Fawaz. We as fans, even on this forum have demanded this and that transfer which more often than not have come to fruition but when they haven’t we have complained and moaned. If we have broken the rules then everybody associated with the club, including fans need to accept responsibility, take it on the chin and do everything within the rules to keep us in the premier league.

Lots of generalisations there.

I think there will be some kick back if this takes us back to the Championship and rightly so.

So you think it would be right to attack the owner?

Is that what you are saying?

Worst case scenario I agree that will happen from some people. What I mean is we are on board with the owners decisions to try to keep us in the PL.
should we relegated it would be fair to say the strategy failed but so have many other clubs strategies to establish themselves. What would be unacceptable and hopefully won’t happen is if the path we have taken risks the long term financial future of the club.

So Hopefully we are fine and can move on from this, and start improving the squad in a more sensible way

I disagree. Today’s date has been well-publicised and clubs are going to have to start strengthening sooner rather than later because we’re almost halfway through the January window. We might not get a club statement yet depending on the outcome, but I’d expect some journalist reports

It’s not right to ‘attack’ anyone, but if we are relegated by this then I think it’s only right that questions are asked regarding the professionalism to which we are run ?

We may well have all been on board with the signings , but it was with the provision we knew what we were doing and we’re not falling foul of anything.

Let’s see what happens first, if the rules we fall foul of are not fit for purpose and are being rewritten, then maybe that will be reflected in the level of punishment.

I am confident that we are okay.

Is that just a personal feeling, Sniffer, or have you been reassured?

I still think I've been fair in everything I've said regarding the ownership, I'm not overly critical but I believe they can do much better, why is that a bad thing?

For what it's worth I heard a few days ago that we are going to be punished with a points deduction but I guess we'll see tomorrow.

No one gets a points deduction in January so I’m not sure how you’ve been told that?
