Now then. SA is bordering insane to be fair. Sniffer needs to regulate the forum :D
Joking sniffer it is tough but my days SA must be drinking something different to the rest of us.
47 league games. We've scored more than once on just 7 (seven!!!) occasions.
I think 4/5 of those are against relegated sides too.
Chris Hughton's Abject Army
And the chances are the next manager will not produce a prolific scoring side either; attempting to turn out an attacking side without a centre forward is not the easiest.
We desperately need players through the door, the problem is our new CEO does not know the meaning of desperately
We don't have a centre-forward?!
Lewis Grabban scored 20 goals, 17 goals & 20 goals in the 3 seasons prior to Hughton arriving!
He doesn't score, and the team doesn't score, because of the negative approach that the manager adopts, with us now looking like we haven't been coached on the training ground since he joined.
Good to see Grabban playing in a football team again

He had 2 half season scoring streaks under Karanka and Lamouchi but thats it, in my opinion he has gone as an effective striker.
Any manager is going to struggle if we stick with Grabban and Taylor up front we are a bottom 6 side. By the way this is not me defending CH, IMO we should have parted ways 3 months ago.
I would agree Grabban has peaked (I said we should have sold him last summer and got flak for that call). But he’s not as bad as he has looked under Hughton. He scored 2 pens and 4 goals from open play last season, that’s 1 goal every 500 minutes from open play! He’s better than that. And bottom 6? I bet way more than 6 clubs in our division would like to have him (just in terms of a player this season, ignoring budget constraints etc).
Get them playing with a smile on their faces, creating chances and enjoying their football. More chances, more goals, more confidence…
I just think if we bring in a good coach who lets these players show us what they’re capable of people will be pleasantly surprised.
Well that wasn't so hard now was it?!
Glad we have some pleasantly surprised Reds :)

Spot on.
It’s great to see the likes of Lowe, Zinc and Johnson within ten yards of Grabban when he gets the ball.

Fair enough mate I thought he was shot last season but excellent yesterday a proper display of what a centre forward should do. The catch is keeping a 34 year old fit for a whole season, would prefer to have a reliable option on the bench so we can give Grab’s hamstrings a rest after 70 mins or so.

Stevie Cooper's magic,
He wears a magic hat,
And when he saw the Forest job he took it 'Just Like That'.
He used to work for Scousers,
He used to be a swan,
And now that he's at Forest,
He's magic all day long.
I like it. Sing it again.

*A 34 year old with a proven injury history. Just got to get through till January! Wouldn't be surprised to see him rested at some point soon. Maybe today with Fulham on Sunday.

When your striker is on a hot streak, you do not rest him unless he really needs it, go and win the game then let him rest his legs the last 20 mins. Then manage his recovery ahead of Sunday.

I get that but also overuse is one of the reasons he keeps getting injured and we really are short without him.

He's not quite doing all the hard yards he was under Sabri and Hughton though.

The reason why Grabban 'only' scored 6 last year (apart from a hip injury and the other two injuries...) was because he was thrashed under Sabri.
And when you get older, you don't get better at recovery.
He'll need a rest at some point. Maybe Forest can bring someone in January to share the load.

That's a fair point.
However, if he pulls up with a hamstring. Who is our back up striker?
We've kicked the can down the road for long enough. We need to show prudence in the next window and get aggressive with a striker and A.N other quality signing.
