Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

I can’t believe our midfield have been told not to pass forward. I do think they have been instructed to cover / help the full backs which has hindered them. I could be wrong and Bournemouth like for like subs were baffling and much like O’Neil I think he has played carvalho begrudgingly. His record with us has been poor and the football dull. If he does get the heave ho it would be justified but I for one would like to see him push through this and do well.

I just cannot cope with pragmatic football any longer, Randall needs to read his mission statement again and the promises made before drawing up the next manager list. We cannot be in line to employ another defensive minded coach.

I cannot listen to another come out talking about about limiting the oppositions chances in every interview when we have barely laid a glove on them, 12 months of it is too much for anybody, rather than looking at our strengths and how we can hurt the opposition give our players confidence and belief that he trusts them.

One day maybe but for now we will have to listen to one of the most uninspiring managers we have ever had the privilege or not of listening too with the results on the pitch mirroring the pre and post match interviews.

What?  Like the dour Aitor?  The dreary Sabri?  The F Bomb Kinnear?  The sulky Megson?  The 'what is he saying' Montanier (sp.).  The Passive Aggressive Er, er, er SoD?

Where have you been these last 24 years?  If you can't listen to it, then don't.  Randall said we weren't fit for purpose and that we were building right before Warburton was given the boot. People didn't like his positive attitude (really.).  Because half the fans found his tippy tappy football boring when he wasn't winning.

Aitor.  Sabri.  Playing the same formations as Hughton.  Only one of those managed to get half a tune out of Car'.

As for Charisma.  We were lucky to have Brian.  Though I couldn't have seen him survive under the current owners.  Not a chance.

The Championship is littered with 'pragmatic' football.  If recruitment don't 'select good players' for the Manager, what's he supposed to do?  Play like Barcelona?  Wave a magic wand? Though, I note, as an example, Huddersfield brought in 3 players and it clicked for them. (I'm guessing they didn't bring in a goalkeeper, an unfit RB and 'just one' fit outfield player for the 1st four games of their campaign.)

Whether you make yourself difficult to beat (and we can't do that because Worrall is injured and we don't have the fullbacks...) and then strive for more attacking football, you still need the players to do this 'mythical' sexy football.

Let's face it, it is all about results. Start winning games and we will all be fine.

if we are 5 nil up at HT tomorrow SA is going to make our lives unbearable for the rest of the season, let's assume Hughton is going to be manager of the month for September, i know i'm waving the white flag SA wins

It may be all about results for some people but others want to see more. The most alarming thing for me is that players have regressed under him, they've forgotten how to play with pace and penetration; it's all walking pace, sideways passes or a massive hoof to absolutely nobody. We're playing pedestrian football in a league than now demands frenetic energy from start to finish, we're being left behind at an alarming rate and with each week/game that passes it becomes harder to claw it back, not just the points but getting the football right to ensure we can compete with the teams who know how to do it properly in this division. That's why I don't think adding 4/5 more players will change as much as some seem to believe it will, it might delay the inevitable but it'll come at some point this season, just hope it isn't too late when it does.

If Forest win vs Derby, I'll try to be magmanimous...

(If Worrall is fit and we get Lowe?  We have a chance.)

However, if Hughton wins four in September and gets MotMonth, it's dry h*mping time.

Who has regressed?

The football is not great but this is pretty much the football we've played since AK left.

Pace?  When was the last time Forest had that.  We have to go back to Tyson or Antonio.  You have to go back to either a Davies or Psycho team for that.  (Davies, 'We're walking when we should be running.'). And people weren't satisfied with that football either.  ('Pearce this...that and t'uther ...)

Both a LONGGGGG time ago.

Pedestrian?!!!!!  That's been Forest for the last 24 years.  Lol.

Even I've stopped going on about how pedestrian Forest are.  It was a staple of Aitor's build up play.  Sabri's tedious (and predictable) snooze ball build up play.  (And MoN was criticised for being agricultural...)

Pace.  (hurts.). Goals.  (hurts) Robust.  Skill. Energy? Yes please. (It's ironic that Barnsley have been playing with more energy than Forest for years giving our old legs legion a hard time in most games.)

I can't remember when we last had all that.  (And I bet it correlates with our recruitment. Which has sucked for the best part of 24 years.). It's been so long I've forgotten my name.

I think everybody has said everything they need to about CH. the vast majority seem to want him out.
I think the club are going to stick with him so isn’t it about time now that we stop calling for his head and get behind him?
Hughton to stay!

Like you say we’ve each already had our say many times and no point repeating it. I’d already decided that irrespective of how today went, it would be my last watching while Hughton is in charge.

If the club want to keep him then I wish them the best of luck, I won’t be criticising them, I just won’t be watching either. Call me what you will, but I work hard and I’m not going to waste quality time in my life continuing to watch that entirely predictable and preventable failure. It’s depressing.

Fingers crossed they pull the trigger in the international break else time for those golf lessons!
