Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

I'm of the mind, Oz', that if Hughton had 9 quality incomings.  They're all fit.  And we're struggling at the bottom of the league/bottom 3 by Christmas and zero shots on goal is a pattern then there's something wrong.

Forest had plenty of game last year where there was plenty of chances, just not quality ones where the strikers can profit.

Hughton's record with Brighton and Newcastle suggests that if he has his own players (maybe even some permanent out field players...) then he can deliver.  Until he gets his own players and a bit of time to see Forest through this chance in recruitment policy (which will take 3 windows to shake out...) then it's meaningless to quote stats from last year (with players that weren't his...) or even stats from this.  We had a decent pre-season until it was interrupted and that was the time to bring in the bodies, for me. We didn't. We've lost four games.  They were pretty close (Could have been draws bar the errors.)  I'm confident if we'd had a LB, CM and Striker?  We'd be at least mid-table.

There have been managers here that have done ok elsewhere.  But for some reason it doesn't work out.  And that can happen.  But frequently for Forest, this managerial graveyard has been down to off the field matters.

At least it's very difficult to win games with zero shots on target.

Difficult without those quality signings.

But Forest have scored league goals in their 1st three games?  It suggests if we can bring in more bodies, Hughton might be able to do the job to his full potential.

Don't criticise him for things that are clearly not in his control eg not having a left back, injuries at CB and right back, bong's existence, lack of decent strikers. He isn't in charge of transfers ffs, let it go.

He's probably gonna get sacked soon and this sorry merry go round will start up again. Until then probably should just back the team for this weekend

How many times.

He could have had a left back.

We've loaned out Ioannou.

He had nearly twelve months to convince Yuri that he was the manager that would get the best out of him and make him a Premier League player.

He's brought Bong in out of the cold previously ahead of Blackett and Ribeiro so clearly has some belief in him.

Why would Hughton convince Yuri or IanWoanou to stay if he's been lead to believe he'd be backed in this window with replacements though?

I really doubt Hughton came here on the promise of "you're gonna have to make do with what you inherit, a few loans, and that's it"

Thought he talked well today but Twitter would think he did a Kinnear on us…

Still puzzles me why we are not allowed to criticise CH even though he’s been here 50 games. But can criticise Dane who’s been here 2 minutes.

If you want to blame recruitment that started a long time before dane came here.

Not sure what you mean there mate everybody has been blamed from one side or the other.

Like I said earlier it would be good if we stopped the blame game and we concentrated on something more positive.

I want to be positive mate. I’m a positive person. I’m only negative on here talking forest. Ha.

I thought he was boring, and saying well we have 4 attackers on so were being attacking? Oh my days Chris wake up and smell the coffee. Not going anywhere under this guy. I have never felt so deflated going in to a derby game.

We have consistently left our wide player high but the trouble has been poor support from the back - lack of distribution and progressive passing. I can’t believe our midfield have been told not to pass forward. I do think they have been instructed to cover / help the full backs which has hindered them. I could be wrong and Bournemouth like for like subs were baffling and much like O’Neil I think he has played carvalho begrudgingly. His record with us has been poor and the football dull. If he does get the heave ho it would be justified but I for one would like to see him push through this and do well.

Yeah.  In the NEP, he's said that the fans have their opinion and it's their club.  Which it is.  His job as manager is to stay positive.

He's been around the block as a manager.  He's had good times with Brighton and Newcastle and done decently in the Premier.  He probably isn't used to losing 4 in a row.  He's probably used to be able to sign outfield players.

He's been unfortunate to lose our true Captain in Worrall.  And any form of LB for the start of the season and I don't think we'd have lost four on the bounce.  He's been unlucky in many ways.

It's not all sweetness and roses.  That's management.  I'm sure he doesn't like losing.  I don't.  Forest fans don't.  It's not like Forest are getting smashed 4 nil in the league games.  The games have been pretty close.

But I like his honesty and positivity.  At least I can understand his post match interviews.

I think Garner will help with the progressive passing.

With quality fullbacks, maybe Hughton can get them involves with the wide players in attack.

I don't think there was anything begrudging about Car' in the Bradford game?

When the recruitment stats arrives the league stats will improve.  Obvious?

I just cannot cope with pragmatic football any longer, Randall needs to read his mission statement again and the promises made before drawing up the next manager list. We cannot be in line to employ another defensive minded coach.

I cannot listen to another come out talking about about limiting the oppositions chances in every interview when we have barely laid a glove on them, 12 months of it is too much for anybody, rather than looking at our strengths and how we can hurt the opposition give our players confidence and belief that he trusts them.

One day maybe but for now we will have to listen to one of the most uninspiring managers we have ever had the privilege or not of listening too with the results on the pitch mirroring the pre and post match interviews.

I think he's since gone on record praising Car's goals (when asked.)

Though, he tends to give a measured assessment of the team in his comments.  Though he noted, with caution, that it was against 3 (4th!) division opponents.  And Car' has yet to replicate his goalscoring feats in the Championship despite being given ample game time.  If you're that good, you'll make the shirt you're own and make it impossible for managers to drop you.

Car' tends to go missing or be anonymous.  That's why successive managers drop him.  He doesn't do enough.  But to be fair to Hughton, yet another manager is giving him a chance.

I think most notably, Hughton has been quizzed about recruitment and he's responded that 'We need to recruit...' and 'Get bodies in...' etc.
