Ryan Yates
Agree, both of you, suspect there is a silent majority who really rate Yates. He will play in the PL with or without Forest.

Haven't we just  :D

Because no one else will ever want him  :) :) :)

I dont get this yates hate thing... every manager we have had in recent seasons has playrd him. Is her perfect... No but still developing.

Surely the concern is that we still havent signed anyone. We are desperate for strikers, wingers, attacking midfielders and with less than 6 weeks to go we have a squad capable of relegation.

Yes we may have a decent defensive base but as last season showed, without the goals we are shot. Thw club need to get a move on. Can see the excuses now... players need timw to settle in etc... we need a good start or the pressure will be on.

Thanks Uwantlee - I was just about to post something similar. And GreenMan, Yates will play in the Premier League. He has both the necessary drive and the talent to do that.

Yates will play in the premier league  :D :D :D :D

Please can I have something of what you’re on…

TBF Gary Brazil also agrees with you, I was speaking to him last season and he said as much.

And I would take GB’s opinion over anybody’s on this forum !

He is very highly thought of at the Club.

The problem with some of the cognoscenti is that they expect him to do things is not there to do; and how many players can you say that about over the years?

It wouldn't surprise me to find him in the PL and a club captain no less...

I hope he's being coached with his heading. He got in some great positions last season and could've scored 3 or 4 goals if he'd put a few headers away.

The season coming up for Yates is a big one. Lots of experience and i am sure playing in front of crowds will bring the best out of him.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion - COYR  :)

I just hope that someone can teach him to cut out the needless fouls and free kicks he gives to the opposition, and can teach him to pass forwards and not always pass backwards and sideways.
I'm sorry but I don't and won't agree that he is something special and will magically transform himself in to a player that some of you are hoping that he will be, we need someone better than Yates.

You should really have a look at his stats before concluding. I'm afraid your observations are far off.

And I really hope someone’s teaching him to pass to fellow team mates feet instead of their sodding shins.

Ryan ‘The Shin’ Yates.

Completely agree, but if fellow fans are happy with mediocrity at best and lingering in the lower reaches of the championship then who am I are to argue…

I agree Widdow he's not a youngster anymore. It's a big season for him coming up. If he can improve his finishing then we have a player on our hands I reckon. Still loads to improve on but the bases of a good player is already there.
