I get the impression that the leading factor with quite a lot of fans is not the loss of the history , or the loss of the iconic location, its the availability of pubs.
On that basis you'd imagine a stadium located in the city would be popular.

Im sure this city centre business is complete rumour with no substance but you'd imagine a new stadium, as part of a multi use, multi functional and wide ranging development would be a really good use of the broadmarsh site. And as the council own that site, they may think so too. All public transport available nearby, plus car parking too. And the council has a huge job on its hands in redeveloping the site. It makes sense. They might be seriously considering it. Im not sure it would be popular with non football fans though as theres a big push for a green park type space there.

Is the Broadmarsh area even big enough? Would be absolute carnage in the City Centre on matchdays.

Perhaps its time to change the chapter on our history and look for a more practical location its the fans and atmosphere that make it. Personally I hope we can stay where we are but I don`t think its a long term realistic option for any owner if we want to progress.

Really good news. Do you know if they are building on the existing academy site or elsewhere?
Also we are assuming this for the building work needed to gain Cat 1 standard, think it was the educational facilities, does anything else need to happen anyone know? |
