I'm with you Sniff. Over these last few weeks I've spent a lot of time entertaining myself by reading the sheep's forum. As an outsider looking in, you can see the the utter garbage some of their posters post. If they were reading this forum they be thinking we're utter nutcases in questioning the abilities of CH.
He's almost universally respected within the game. If we sacked him now we'd be derided by every pro, ex-pro and pundit around.
And so we should be it would be ludicrous.

No we wouldn’t....I’d say most people wouldn’t give a toss, a few pundits might mention it, but the media need to create a shit storm out of every single irrelevant thing

:D
Maybe we were 4th - I just looked and we're 5th favourite - but more importantly it doesn't include anyone in the play-offs. So we wouldn't be 4th or 5th once the teams in the play-offs who don't go up are included.
In any case, we're a club with a decent squad and expected significant financial backing from the owner, that will all be included in estimating odds. You could just as much argue it is because we have a good squad as a good manager, but in reality you shouldn't read much into it at all.
Our wage bill isn’t top 6. While ever FFP is in place the club’s income won’t be top 6. For a club of average means like Forest to be favourites for top 6 other factors than squad quality and finances must be seen as giving us an advantage above and beyond what’s expected. It may also be that we are seen as well run and stable, but having a manager who tends to finish in the top 6 is the stand out factor imo.
Forget that you think you're in some sort of argument about the manager - aside from your subjective claim I was correcting the factual / contextual distortions.
We are 5th favourite on SkyBet and that doesn't include any of the current play-off teams => Brentford, Swansea & Bournemouth would all likely be shorter odds than us if they don't go up, and at least 2 of them won't. So probably 7th or 8th favourites ie we are not favourites for top 6.
Point taken about the play off clubs not being included.
I’m not arguing about the manager, more the fact that for a club of average financial means like Forest to be in the mix there would have to be other factors at work rather than quality of the playing squad. We are not going to have a top six squad on paper because we couldn’t afford to carry a wage bill of that size.

Good. We are going into a new season with the same manager and a full preseason. Can't see how that can be a bad thing.

Behave. Sabri didn't have a proper full pre-season last summer.

Well of course he did!
Sabri had a full pre-season, i agree not normal, but the world aint normal, but it was just like all clubs in the covid hit times, but it was still a full preseason, with friendlies.
And no doubt still impact this pre-season.
He also had nearly a full pre-season in his first year, taking over from MON when players moaned they had to run up hills in Wollaton park

You don't half talk some shyte :)
How the hell could it have been a full pre-season when the season didn't finish until July 22nd and we started again for this season the first week in September?

So, it was shorter, it was unsual, but was still a full pre-season
It would be the same time if we won the play off final, and preparing for the next league up.

It was still a full pre-season, the same as every club in the country, some had shorter if they played in play offs like Swansea and Brentford. Didnt do them any harm
If anything, players came back fitter, as it was shorter, so less time to work on fitness more on how he wanted them to play
You need to change your Username, not sure why you want Derby in it :D
