Yep. Leicesters new academy and training ground is 12 miles away from their stadium. Im sure somewhere  can be found but any rebuild would be still be a big outlay.

& we'll have to make sure there's enough nettles for the players to run through, or am I being to out of date?

When I look at most of the current squads ability to pass the ball to a teammate 5 yards away I seriously question if running through nettles is the only training they do.

They've applied for CAT 1 status based on the facilities (and proposed facilities) on the current site. I cant imagine they'd just be having a punt at an application to see if they could get CAT1. They must have an inkling that it's possible they'll be successful.

I thought that too! But, surely it is better to get Cat1 ASAP with the facilities already in place, then worry about moving to another site once Cat1 status has been approved? If we move after Cat1 status has been achieved, then it is just a case of providing the same, if not better facilities on the new site in a more permanent and purpose built environment.

My understanding is that the only bar to gaining Cat 1 status was not having an Education facility at the current site; that is being resolved.

Can you imagine letting the next opportunity slip, we then find a suitable site and end up having to wait two years or 18 Months before we could apply again?

That would be incredibly bad planning.

Thats some good info JCK if its just educational facilities lacking but we tick all other boxes then I hope we are in a good position. Would hope we can do a short term fix re the educational side that would meet recruitments

The stadium plan was meant to be submitted in ‘the first quarter of 2021’ , we are now May and it still hasn't.

Randall said they were hoping for a summer decision but when he was asked for timeframe it was noticeable, he didn’t commit to work starting in 2022. They don't have a clue when the work will start even if they do get agreement, so not even guaranteed to start next year for the 2022/23 season and it has been suggested it will take 15 months to build.

Lots of people I have spoken to (at club, council, and media) think it will never happen and they just want planning permission to make it more sellable. But I really hope to be proved wrong -
