Exactly, I think conspiracy theories about this have been fairly cleanly shot out of the water with that, you don't hire architects, constructors, & lawyers, put in planning permission, hold meetings & spend £2m on something unless you are actually intending to see the thing through.

I think the club are very much aware how much they could raise by selling the land for housing development but where would they go instead? Most of the green belt on the edge of south notts is in a contest battle with land owners wanting to sell it for housing and parish and town councils fighting against it. The land at gamston that was touted as a new site for a forest stadium is going to be developed into a new housing area with shops and probably a school looking at the size of it! There aren’t many places close to the club itself where a new academy could be.

No I'm sure there aren't. They dont just need a bit of land for a pitch, they need acres and acres of land for multiple pitches and associated buildings. Green sites of the required size that planning policies will also allow such development upon don't come around very often.

To that I'd answer, many years ago, I used to watch Chelsea train occasionally & there training ground was more than 20 miles from Stamford Bridge so if need be I could see us cast our net well outside the current area.

Yep. Leicesters new academy and training ground is 12 miles away from their stadium. Im sure somewhere can be found but any rebuild would be still be a big outlay.

& we'll have to make sure there's enough nettles for the players to run through, or am I being to out of date?

My worry would be that this could push back any Cat 1 application - or am I being overly concerned?
