He really needs at least 1 window before we can get a proper grasp on what he's about. The trouble is that, if results continue as is, he might not even get that.
I'm not happy with various things which he does, but make exception because of said hand dealt. However, the one exception to that is constantly playing Figs. He & Christie may as well wear a set of bullseyes for our opposition to target. Soh may be complete toss, but persisting with someone who's playing complete toss as it is makes no sense.

I haven't liked what I've seen so far but don't get me wrong, he's obviously got a lot about him and I fully expect us to pull out of the bottom zone. But I ask do I want to give a guy a year or so and the ability to reshape our squad in his mould when he has a rep for defensive football, being quite inflexible and apparently not integrating youth. And obviously my answer is no - I want a coach who does the opposite of all of those.
Once you've employed him you should probably give him time to build, so I'll just have to accept it, but it's not the path I wanted us to go down.

I can only assume he came home one day to Soh & Mighten tag-teaming his daughter.

I think Mighten has been injured.
After todays "performance" will be interesting to see if he picks Figs next week. Perhaps not sure about a 19 year old in such a key position? In reality though Figs is a goal a game this season and not in a good way...

I agree with that to a large degree.
I think the club's obsession with pragmatic yet (sorry, try not to laugh here) "winning" football has worn stupendously thin, and find it incredibly disheartening that the managers which EM & co have chosen to employ have all been against attacking/passing football. On the flipside I at least have to give them some credit for at least trying to maintain some consistency there.
However, I also think that it's unfair to say Hughton doesn't blood youth. He's been playing Yates regularly, and played Swan today too. Mighten returned to the bench too. That may not seem lots, but I think it's satisfactory enough given the situation we're in, and the short space of time Hughton's been here.
Also, regards style, I do think that we're cutting our cloth accordingly, and that it's easier for a club with our budget to compete in the market for the better defensive players, than it is the better attacking ones.
I don't think there's a right or wrong way, I just think we need a cohesive plan which takes into account the strengths & weaknesses of the club, and adapts accordingly. Hughton inherited Brighton in a very similar position, and then the following season they flew up the league. The real question for me is will we empower Hughton to do that here, and can he survive being a stylistically bad fit for the more traditional Forest fans too.

Hughton also had a young Dunk and blooded Solly March (now a regular in Prem for them) so not sure it's fair regarding not using young players. Brighton fans are generally no nowts having gone from 5k to 30k in new ground most generally clueless as they haven't produced many youngsters who have gone on to do much from the Hughton era.

I read someone else saying about Hughton & youth from pre-Forest days hence the 'apparently', I'd be very happy for that to be wrong. My experience here so far I'd say isn't encouraging, Will Swan getting minutes here was the first I'd seen, a nice surprise. I wouldn't include Yates, 23 yrs old, 130 appearances and 50 in this division, he was already broken in.
Mighten had started making sub appearances and had just made his first league start when Sabri left, but has been on the bench 5 times but no minutes since. Mbe Soh had played the last 2 matches under Sabri but has been on the bench all 10 matches under CH but no minutes. And I thought both were in positions we needed new options for.
I really hope he does embrace them, because we're not making the play-offs this season, so it has to be about building for next year, and those 2 youngsters at a minimum need to be a part of it.
But yes definitely on the other point; Karanka, O'Neill, Lamouchi, Hughton doesn't make you salivate in terms of entertaining football. Even when Lamouchi was winning, you could tell it was the only thing keeping the masses onside with it. Some of those home performances were tough going. Hughton has come in when the goodwill for defensive or attritional play has been exhausted.

Wasnt digging you out Alf, just letting folk know that Brighton fans generally talk b@llocks as they didn't have any good youngsters other than March.

Yeah no worries Zic, didn't think you were mate :)
Just in defence of Hughton though, you could put this first 11 together from the last 2 windows.....
Diallo
Christie Figs Blackett Bong
Diakhaby Bachirou Cafu Ianounou
Guerrero Da Costa
Obv a few square pegs in there, and Diakhaby's gone back now, but that's a full first 11 that we've signed recently which I don't think would survive in this league, never mind go up. It looks absolutely devoid of goals for starters.
Unkind on Bachirou? With our track record, and from the little I saw of him early doors, no. In fact I think he looked awful.
Not one of those players would get a sniff at any top 6 side. Hughton's making some questionable choices, but we've really not helped our cause signing so much trash.

I don’t get the obsession with Mighten. When was the last time he came on and had a positive impact on a game?

FYI I noticed Mouscron, who Da Costa went to, are bottom of the Belgian league, so they won’t likely be offering much for him when the loan is up even if they want him to stay. 1 goal in 4 appearances so far.
