 I’m sick of sacking managers however on the other hand I can’t say I expect him to turn it around either.

A lot of people are so desperate for instant gratification that they don't think of the consequences.

The facts imo are that AK was brought in for 'instant gratification', old players, some with maybe less than a season left to give, loans, revolving door, 23 signings, cheque book, no time for developing the youngsters, this is all about instant gratification, success ... or potentially bust.

The last 8 months is the definition of instant gratification which always ends in misery, this is why we are all so miserable now.

I believe Marinakis thought he still had a shot at the play offs last January and that AK was the man to spend the money this season, do the hatchet jobs and get 'instant gratification'.  When you take away the aged, the loans, the mercenaries, the weird signings that haven't or didn't even get on the pitch there isn't very much long termism, yes 2 or 3 good players maybe tick all the boxes of long term.  

Brentford have integrity and strategy and provide entertainment, we are further away now from anything long term and sustainable than ever.  

Besides the revolving door and cheque book and desperation there are other questions over the teams integrity, the lack of entertainment, on field ambition to win, it's not just the negative tactics but also a lot of unsporting behavior. 

If instant gratification usually results in misery, maybe the way we are all feeling now is poetic justice?

This is what I'm saying though... Initially when Warburton was hired and we were told it'd be a slow build the fans were happy with that... for about 2 months and then they got bored and wanted to know why we weren't winning every game or in the top 6 etc. what is the board supposed to do in that situation? Ignore the fans or give them what they want? They elected to try and give them what they wanted now we're 6 games into a new season and the fans are fed up again, so what are the board supposed to do now? Twist again or try something different and stick for a while?

The decisions were made by the board, not the fans. Our opinion isn't what decides what happens.

Nobody sticks down a £100m bet & then listens to random strangers on how to play it. The board makes the decisions, fan opinions are almost irrelevant.

Overall, quite true.  Marinakis will want a return on his £25 million.  But I'd still say Forest need two seasons with Aitor to get there.  Forest, despite all that money spent, are a team, squad and club in transition.  I didn't think £25 million would get Forest top 2.  More 'top 8.'  Why?  Because Forest have been fighting relegation for the last 3 seasons.

Football is a fickle goddess.

I think a big mistake was not to invest more heavily in the D/CM position.  Forest have been pulverised in the matches vs Wigan, Birmingham, Reading and Brentford.  That's the position that teams who go anywhere seem to have a handle on.  I think Huddersfield had two noteworthy 'gate keepers' for their promotion season.  Wolves had their guys in their.

The Championship is robust.  Pace.  Energy.  And Forest's centre of the park just doesn't have it and it invites opposition on.  

I've enjoyed watching an excellent window.  But I'm scratching my head how Forest don't have a first choice rb, a dominant D/CM with legs and a mobile, strong striker to push Grabban.

I just think Forest were so fundamentally broken that a reminder that the Chairmen said this just over a year ago before that modest Summer transfer.  This season feels like growing pains and a club in transition. This last January and this Summer has been more about righting the ship. The on field performances suggests a struggle...to go from top of bottom 8...to...

...the bottom of the Top 8.

It's scant consolation that Forest trying to tread on the faces on Reading, Wigan, Birmingham, Brentford to get there, having spent £25 million and have been far from convincing.

But that's teh Championship. It's unforgiving. Pullis' transition season was a Boro' team that was underachieving under Gary Monk. That's a far higher base to transition from. Pullis adds Flint for £7 million and gets a defensive rock. He's fine tuning a club that was ready to 'go' bar a clutch of signings.

It's ironic, that the team Aitor took over at Boro' was of a better pedigree than the one he took over here. The transition was quicker. Why?

Forest were a basket case just over a year ago. ...and as recently as January looked in deep trouble. So in 6 months or so, Forest have thrown a squad together.

Good teams take time to grow.

I'm not surprised that Forest looked good pre-season. (*waves to Geddy and Yates in D/CM) But the warning signs were there vs the Oldham side pre-season that Forest may not be equipped to take the Championship by storm.

It's going to be painful at times. But it may be the price to pay. I hope we stick with Aitor to see it through.

That doesn't make good reading when you consider all the dross managers that's above him. The only things that's in his defence at the moment (apart from 7 players on matchday) is that he's brought so many new players in this season and perhaps deserves time to prove himself with the new squad.

He did Psycho but he didn't spend 25 million pounds and make about 25 new signings!
