Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager
Yet their is little evidence of Car' 'playing' all season. For a £13.5 million player.

Where are the starts? (For starters?) If Yates 'can't play, how come he scored a perfectly decent goal in the last game and Car' didn't?

Sure, Yates may be out of form (but how do we explain Semedo and Rostock's 'established' player 'form?' All season long.) But he does give the team something that Car' does not. I wonder what that is? Why does the Coach play Yates and bring on Car' later? What does the Coach see?

Car'? Where are the starts? The assists? The goals? Where are the performances to justify the exorbitant fee?

Yet another 'Coach' has him on 'watching' duty and 'not' playing.

Car' can 'play' but at what?

A player that should galvanise the side. But there's been precious little evidence of it all season.

Wishing don't make it so. And I wish it were so. (But actually, it's Sow.)

If a Millwall player wanted to take Yate's pint off him in a bar...I reckon...you'd have to wrestle Yates to get it. Especially if it said, 'Forest Pint' on the label or beer mat.

I can't picture the same level of resistance in my mind involving Car'.

One of those you need in the Championship.

Yates is not ‘out of form’ - he just ain’t good enough ( and if gives me no pleasure in saying that ).

Carvalho’s starts? As number 10? Just 2 - and we won em both!

Anyway we shouldn’t be comparing apples with pears - they are completely different types of player.

Yates is good enough.  He's developing.  Remember that people said that about Worrall and Cash who were 'crap' not that long ago.  Cash was still a crap winger even though he was scoring goals from that position.  Worrall had to go to Rangers to 'cut out' the mistakes.  And Worrall for 'that' goal vs Boro?  I don't think the defence had a good game but Yates gets it in the neck for 'bad' game.  (Though I could say the same thing about Car', he's not out of form, he's just not 'good enough.')

Two starts is a statistical irrelevance.  What about all the games he did play in but scored nor assisted 'nowt?'

They are different players.  But the apple of them scored a goal.  That's supposed to be the pear's job.

No single Forest fan wants the 'pear' or 'apple' to fail.

I'd rather assess such things after a player's time at a club has passed.  I'd be quite happy with the apple and the pear in the side and both doing well.

Championship? Not with Yates playing.

Good debate SA.
We’ll beg to differ.
My last word.
Oh and I’m sorry Sniff - promised not to mention Yates again.

Not so.

Under MoN (yes, with Yates looking a decent young prospect...and Car on 'watching duty...') and The Coach, Yates has featured prominently whilst Master Car' has been on 'watching' duty.

We certainly do. :D

And it's no fun it you don't mention Yates.  He's free and developing.  Car' cost a lot of money and is stagnating.

Hopefully the spring weather will change that.

It could be argued that both players are young and developing.  And that Sow and Silva should be the 1st teamers with Yates and Car' coming off the bench.

But the Coach, himself, started Yates and finished with Car'.  There's nuance in how he deployed those 'different' players.  I'd go as far as saying they could both learn from one another.

And Yates.  No little skill.  (He outpointed Cash in the scoring technique clip on YouTube.)  He wants it.  Out of form or not.  Maybe Car' wants it so much it's getting in to his head.  I'm not the Coach.  Who has, himself said, he's wrestling to get the 'he can play' from Car' onto the pitch.

Yates should have scored the winner vs Boro!  (Yates SCORED!  Just a shame I missed that part of the game...but glad I missed the two...soft goals...) but the defence stuffed up!

But the defence...I don't know what the defence were doing.  Watson let a player go.  Worrall missed a header.  Cash...not sure what he was doing for the 2nd.

It's a circle Alf. You like to have a dig at Modesto and praise the manager but who recruited the manager? It was your mate Modesto. Also the manager is now part of the recruitment team so he has to take some responsibility for the poor back up players as you like to call them.

Agreed Sniffer. Lamouchi has been brilliant and I adore the bloke but he shouldn't be beyond criticism.
