I agree Sabri has made some mistakes this season that have cost points. What he sees in Diakhaby i just cant fathom. Ive been watching Forest for 43 years now so even though im just a fan, i like to think i know what a decent player looks like by now. I can tell you that Diakhaby is nothing and never will be. Hes not even a lower league player. He'd get knobled down there.

I’d rather see us pass the ball about like we did towards the end than go with a midfield of Yates & Semedo who start games because they are tall.

It's a circle Alf. You like to have a dig at Modesto and praise the manager but who recruited the manager? It was your mate Modesto. Also the manager is now part of the recruitment team so he has to take some responsibility for the poor back up players as you like to call them.

Cant help but feel people (maybe different ones) would be complaining if he'd started carvalho and bostock and they'd inevitably been just as average.

I think the options are just pretty weak, that said I'd rather play noone than Diakhaby. I wonder if Da Costa is anywhere near playing

Sab spends his time coaching & training the first team, bracketing him as "part of recruitment" is like saying Grabban is "part of the defense" because of how we play. It's a big stretch, and ultimately the majority of Sab's time is focused on the day to day stuff, rather than scouting elsewhere. In fact at the end of Jan he said to the NEP - "I don’t want a bad surprise, I just want a good surprise' - Sabri Lamouchi's transfer message at Nottingham Forest" That to me suggests he's quite detatched from the process.

Sab may have some slight input, but the club as a whole should be giving him much better options.

Our success rests on Sow being fit, but I don’t see why some see that as a reason to bash the recruitment team. Surely they deserve praise for finding such a gem in the first place. He’s one of the best midfielders in the Championship yet cost next to nothing.

Sabri’s problem is what to do when Sow isn’t available. Being unable to replace such a good player isn’t a failure of the club. Every other club would struggle to replace him too, even the richer clubs. Semedo is hugely inconsistent and Yates just isn’t very good. Watson gets isolated and exposed as happened against Boro. Silva is an option as one of a deep lying pair.

I’d prefer to see Sabri shift to more of a possession based game when Sow isn’t available, especially at home against lower teams. This would mean finding a place for players who can pass a ball like Carvalho and Bostock.

I don't think it suggests he's 'detached' at all.  He's part of it.  Ie.  Consulted.  But.  He isn't the owner.  He can probably say yes or no.  But the reality of making it happen could be beyond his or even the club's financial reach.

Financial realities dictate that perhaps you bring back Tyler Walker because Grosetski's wages couldn't be afforded.

How do we know he has 'slight' input.  But football realities may say that 'no one' at Forest has the final say.  If you can't afford something you buy something cheaper.

Sure, we, and he and probably recruitment are always hoping and looking for better.  But what if better chooses WBA rather than us?

Car was pulling out of tackles and not tracking back under MON.  Ergo: Car' on watching duty.  And I wonder why he isn't playing now?  Because when he's had his chance it's pretty much the same.  He's lightweight.  Starting him vs eg. Millwall?  I wonder what will happen...

Bostock has done little all season to suggest that playing him and Car' would have been anything other than one way traffic through our midfield. However, there was an uptick when they came on against a tiring Boro'...

Diakhaby.  In fairness, he's having his pre-season with Forest now.  And didn't he have a chance to score the winner?  I wonder what Car's and Bostock's excuses are.

People may complain about Yates.  But he's 'one of ours' developing in the 1st team because Sow isn't fit.  Bostock?  Semedo?  So that's two CMs that 'didn't' work out.  Yates scored.  Car' did not.  Yates has a will to win.  His form may be out of form but he'd have to go some to have the season Car' has had.  Which has been disastrous for a £13.5 million signing.

Yates has one thing that Car' appears to lack.  A will to win or willingness to get hurt.
