The problem with me is that I am never satisfied and I always want more and I have a burning desire for this forum to be the best. I am ambitious and I have drive. I won't ever stop. It's just how I am. Always have been and always will be.
Now stop bloody reading and get posting. Tik tok tik tok...
The eternal battle. Incentive? Discipline? (Or have psychological irk from being forced to do things in life that you aren't comfortable with. Do people like being forced..? 'Do this or else we'll freeze your assets?' Especially with their valuable free time?
Horses led to water. But can you make them drink..? The internet is largely a passive medium despite the vocal minority on forums, youtube or insta-facebook. We like to read or watch. ;)
You're invited to a wedding and somebody says, 'Dance.' (maybe you like to watch people enjoy themselves and soak up the atmosphere but you're not much of a dancer...)
Or there's a singalong and people in the group shout at you, 'SING!' (and you love other people singing but hate singing yourself?)
Or yes, the 'loud' one in the group single out the quiet one as 'weird.'
1000 members. That's the Forest tribe (maybe you have more...) currently here. Let's say 1 in 10 post.
To double the amount of posters? Grow the passive tribe to 2000 to double the 'active' posters.
People are probably rebels at heart. You tell them to do something and in my experience they'll either resent you or not do it.
Life gets in the way and you end up frozen out. That wouldn't encourage me.
Sometimes people just don't 'feel like it.'
There's nothing wrong with a burning desire to make something better.
But we have to be careful. eg. Many of the websites these days? 'We respect your privacy....' (BUT! To read this website you'll have to surrender it... Naturally, those websites I leave.)
Encouragement works better. And there's countless ways to encourage people. In the 1st instance to merely be a welcoming, superior Forest fan forum with superior standards of civil discussion and passion for Forest. It's worked well so far..?
