That’s a good read.
A lot of forward thinking clubs are looking at keeping fans in the Ground longer, Tottenham, Leicester and Brighton all do different aspects of it very well.

Football costs have spiralled beyond insanity since the Premiership / Sky hegemon(e)y drew up the draw bridge on the rest of the football league. To rent out your ground to musical performers, events...having shops as incumbent retail outlets, a museum, a place to get a beer, drinks, food...a tram to get there... eg. 'When' I've attended Forest the one thing that strikes me is I've had a 20-30 min walk to get there from the tram and I sit there for 20 mins soaking up the atmosphere. (which I don't mind. It's kind of electric and magical.) I'm not easily bored. But if I had friends or family with me, they might be. There is a bit of 'thumb twiddling' if you arrive early. There's not a great reason to arrive super early as there's nothing else to do. It's all entered around getting there and getting out of there. And that's just a mentality of football grounds past. An old corner shop mentality. We've provided our singular service to you. Now go home. When you think about the amount of space that isn't being utilised it is a massive waste of money when it's not being used. Can I get a decent pie and chips. Sit down with Radio Nottingham over the tannoy in a nice 'New City Ground' Restaurant. (I suppose asking for Forest Hooters is a bit beyond the pale...) Being able to walk about a Forest museum. So I have a reason to get there early for the match, get my tickets with a bit of decorum rather than a herd panic mentality. The newer corporations e.g. (Apple) are moving into TV, Subscriptions, gaming, film...credit cards ie diversifying. If they can apply a business model? They will do. Skinning the flea for every nickle. Monetising brand and brand loyalty. And in this progressive era of vision and asset stripping the customer, *cough, I mean, providing services for your loyal customers Forest have to think more broadly. Not doing so is costing them many millions. Not doing so is also costing them tens of millions by not being in the Premier. And if they get there? They HAVE to have a bigger capacity. So 38K makes sense. Forest are at the limit now. And they've had no real success just a stabilisation in league position with a recent entry into the top 6. Just a more cohesive business plan. Get to the Premiership? There's 10-15 Notts County fans. So there's an extra 15k of football fans in Nottingham at least. If you could hang them up side down and shake their pockets for nickels....that takes Forest to 45k in capacity required. Forest have a rich history with fans who have a genuine warmth and sharing in that history. To build out that eco-system makes sense to me. Forest as a lifestyle brand. Monetising the Forest tribe of fans. If it's fairly priced and inclusive. And had recurring interest. Eg. In the museum. A forest cinema where you can watch match previews eg. Forest World or Miracle Men documentaries. 'Word from the Mount' e.g. interviews with the Forest hierarchy re: the new Statium development. A feed back box. Places which provide you with interest, comfort of the familiar and something new to do. Imagination = money. Ifs and maybes. But the new Peter Taylor Stand will soon no longer be a maybe. It's no longer an if. It's a when. Forest already have a better sponsorship deal. When the new Stand is done, expect business revenues to take a steep incline upwards. But there's lots of areas Forest can grow revenue. SA.

I wonder what the capacity of it is. And the training facilities pretty expansive. Mind boggling. The sooner Forest get into the Premier, the better. SA.

interesting that they keep referring to him as Lead Architect. TC as far as I'm aware is not an architect?

I have a grudging admiration of the vision of the Spurs development. But it shows what can be done. Leicester. Sheff Utd. Some of the 'perennial' also rans like Burnely have been in the Premier for a good few years now. We now have the leadership to finally develop this 'success' and all it entails.
35k will boost revenues. 38k will grow them further. Just having the Peter Taylor Stand will have a significant impact and herald a new era. It will be a 1st step on the road to refurbishment of the entire ground. It's about time the City Ground had some development. I'm still pinching myself that it's finally happening. SA.

I travel 60 miles just to get to a match. I park up 20 minutes walk from the ground and get a bite to eat at a local eatery. If late then I’ll get something at the ground. It’s poor quality and expensive. I then get into a seat that is poorly designed and cramped.
But do you know what— I think I’ll miss the PT stand. My proximity to the pitch, the touching distance of the home bench, the view and the atmosphere.

I would be more than happy to stay later in the ground with the kids and let the mass of people go so it's easier to see where they are if they served good food and we could sit down and have say dinner before the 6 hour drive home.

Will they be any better than that for the Peter Taylor Stand. SA.

They have to be - new regs mean wider spacing.

Someone who works for Benoy has just tweeted that planning application is 'out the door.' Wonder if the club will officially announce it.
