Yates MIGHT get added to that list too.

Yates is another Ozzy for me, has a few deficiencies to ever be top class, but his attitude will carry him to a decent level

And what deficiencies might that be?
Of course this is only my opinion !
he is too limited in his passing range, and his body shape isn’t open when he receives the ball which means he can only play the way he is facing.

I agree he needs to be better on the ball, but I don’t think a league one loan will help get him to where we need him to be. I think he’d benefit most from getting coaching by Team Sabri, whilst playing a role in the first team squad.

I agree with the concern about how he receives the ball but body positioning is very coachable- his size, engine and will are not and he has that in droves. I think what appears to be his biggest asset is his level-headedness and willing to learn, he’s got Watson, Sow and Bostock to learn from. Like Dawson and Worrall tho he seems to bleed Forest- future captain material. I wonder how much credit Gary Brazil can take from that?

Same here.

Personally I’d loan him out to league one in January.

It’s the same as Tyler Walker, if he’s ever going to be actually good enough to play for us one day, then he needs to be playing regularly(once he’s fit of course) instead of being just a bit part player who most weeks wouldn’t even make the bench.

He has already played for us and played very well. We need to have a squad not just a starting 11. Watson will not play 46 league games, Bostock has a history of injuries, Semedo is blowing hot and cold. We need Yates and he won't let anybody down when he plays.

This ^

Yates didn't finish the season brilliantly but when he first broke into the team under Karanka he was fantastic and he has already shown what he is capable of and that was without Lamouchi's influence.

Yates was playing in a flawed team last season. I'd like to see him play in this team. What can he do from a position of strength

Correct Jasper, we really needed him last night but unfortunately he was injured.

Lamouchi is gonna love Yates. Thought he was great today. Such a Lamouchi type player.

Was definitely opening his body better to receive and play but thought he was a little clumsy... 2nd game tho and, like Worrall, can’t fault his heart or passion for the shirt. Often found himself bombing into the box as the furthest forward midfielder just with his willingness to run.

This all over.

He'll be a beast in a few years

Yates did a great job today for our team. Not every player can pass like Gazza, dribble  like Messi, or score a tonne of goals like Fat Frank. The fact (sorry opinion) is that Yates is a very promising young player, still developing, inexperienced at this level and will only get better. Personally, I would want to play with him in midfield. The b@ll@x I have read about what the lad supposedly can't do...(after about 5 minutes in our academy, kids can receive the ball, open out etc or they won't last)....anyway, I'm buzzing off today and every one of our 14 players contributed.

He blitzed League 4 and 3.  Now in League 2, he's showing he can mix it in an almost bespoke Forest team.

Credit to Yates, Worrall and Cash.

3 players who have proved the doubters wrong.  THey're in the team doing 'it.'

Really chuffed for the young lads. It really annoyed me over the past year or so to read that "we need better if we want to be challenging".  Well we are challenging and the academy lads aren't just filling gaps, they are playing a key role. Still early days, but with Daws, Sow & Semedo to come back the squad looks healthy and all are playing a part.

On Forza display, brought a tear to my eye, very classy indeed. Thank you.
