not sure but it confirms that he left on his own accord. did he leave because the owners wanted promotion this season? warburton said the same when he was sacked.

He is saying that he was appointed with a 3 year plan to get us promotion but the goalposts were moved and it was expected in 2 ie this season.

Someone upstairs needs to learn to back their man and that swapping managers mid season hardly ever works.

He didn't have to walk though, even if the goalposts moved.

He could have said 'ok I will try to do my best and I will give 100% to achieve the new target I have been given'.

On the flipside I would have stayed and given it my best shot and I reckon Aitor should have done the same thing.

Easy enough to say that when you're not in his position.

at the end of the day he has walked from two jobs now

if you were an employer would you hire somebody who has walked from their past 2 jobs?

Perhaps but whether the goalposts moved or not he was under contract and he should respect that. A boss is allowed to move goalposts if he wants to, it's happened to me many times but I didn't sulk and storm off, I worked harder to achieve my new target.

Yeah I agree I’ve been involved in lots of projects where the goalposts have changed and you work around it. Sure you bitch and complain but when did anything ever happen simply. If this is the only reason he left I’m disappointed in him. He should’ve stayed till the end of the season and left then if it was an issue. At least that wouldn’t screw over the club as much then. Or left when promotion was no longer achievable.

No, I wouldn't. He's a talented guy that's for sure but he's flakey.

He's from the Mourinho school of management where he wants to spend big, turn over players quickly and dictate how the club is run.

He's unlikely to get a prem job. And, with FFP biting in the Championship he's unlikely to get a club who'll bank roll him now. And finally managers in the Championship just don't get 3 years to deliver any more. The costs are too high to be patient.

Aitor Karanka:

“In the end, I decided to step aside for the history of the club, for the fans, for the players.”

Seriously?

What a load of bollocks.
