Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest

He blamed himself for the defeat by saying something to the effect of that it was some kind of karma that prevented his side from winning as OG was never going to be allowed to go there and win. It was proper Cotterill-esq I thought. He clearly didn't want to dig his players out for a poor defensive and attacking performance which is fair enough but to come out with this kind of shite just makes him look like an idiot in my eyes.

He's going to be under pressure very soon. 2 defeats in the row now (in games where we should've won), and every chance of another defeat next Sunday at home V Arsenal. Then Man City. And then bogey team Bournemouth away followed by Chelsea! Not an easy run of games to get some points from.

Surely that is better than slagging off Delap in the post match interview?!

This is the problem yesterday, throwing away what should've been a comfortable win and now we have a really tough run of games. It's a season ruiner of a result, plus the confidence of Delap must be shattered.

Glasner is going to have to get a win in a surprising match, like he did vs Villa

Just looked at the fixtures, what's the feeling from the club if we are in the bottom three in Dec? Will Glasner get time?

I'll be so annoyed if we sack Pereira and then Glasner only lasts a few months, surely we just have to ride it out?

(What is Pereira up to atm?)

Whats the odds on Forest beating Arsenal at the weekend, I think very high based on us being Forest, cant score for toffee and stupid defending, add to that we are at home and have not won at the WFCG since the dark ages! Result Forest 3 (VAR hatrick) Gunners 1 (og Glasner).

We've seen many times over the last 4 years that we can get points where we didn't expect any, but even so, that's an incredibly hard run of games to enter into off the back of 2 defeats in games in which we did more than enough to win but lost.

Say we pick up 2 points from Arsenal, City, Bournemouth, Chelsea. That'll be 7 points from 10 games heading into a trip to Hull (who are as yet unbeaten at home) and then Brighton, who are pretty decent at the moment, then Sunderland away.

If you look at the table and say Spurs and Villa below us are probably currently mis-placed, we've every chance of being in the bottom 3 at Christmas.

Glasner's going to be under a lot of pressure soon. We've used up winnable games implementing his system.

Personally, I'm worried.

Edit, forgot to add Ipswich A and Brentford A to my list but I don't think the addition of those games changes the point I'm making.

Yep, Delap's clearly going to need time and he deserved some criticism yesterday for his missed chance (why does he always want to smash the f out of the ball?) but if we're heading for the relegation zone, and we have Chris Wood available, how much time can he be given?

And it's the same for the defending. How long do we give the individuals and the system before we say, enough' s enough let's revert to last seasons back 4 and do some fire-fighting?

Off topic but think the hate for Delap is OTT. Yes he should have just cushioned the ball in hindsight but he hit it really well and on target, it was actually an unbelievable save. Its not as if he spooned it over the stand. Seen plenty better strikers miss chances like that, give the lad a break. If our defending had been up to scratch it wouldn’t have mattered.

Many aren't willing to give the lad a chance having written him off from the fee

Dont see any hate Salv and I think we are giving the lad a break. But we're competing in the prem and in the prem that chance is scored almost 10 times out of 10 by any other striker. Score that and I don't think Palace are bothering us again. I'm hoping Glasner can coach him into having a bit more finesse in these kinds of situations rather than smashing the f**k out of every chance he has. If he does that he can be a very very good player for us.

To the same extent, how many fluffed penalties have we complained about asking why didn't just go for power. Appreciate 12 yards not 2 but argument there. He was making sure and was unfortunate as power could have given keeper no chance

I dont agree he was making sure, I reckon it's just his style. He wants to smash everything.

I do accept it's very easy for me to say from here, behind my keyboard though. But we are in the prem and I think sometimes we can be critical because these lads are absolute elite players and among some of the best players on the planet. Because we've seen our club in the second and third tiers not so long ago, I think we can lose sight of just how good these players are now who play for us. So expecting high standards from them is not a bad thing.

He clearly made a really poor choice, honestly could've controlled it and walked it in. He was unlucky the keeper didn't just palm it in too and that he managed to put it in the only possibly saveable spot. Just worried his confidence is probably already fragile from last year. I still have high hopes personally although I do have to admit I did suggest he was subbed at HT  Laugh out loud

I think if Jesus wasn't injured that might have happened as his head seemed a bit gone after the miss. Wood does look like his legs have finally gone though, maybe that is partially just that he isn't fit enough due to not playing but not sure I would want him in over Delap anytime soon.

It's just so frustrating at the minute as all the stats are pointing in the right direction. Except from Coventry at Home we've been good value to get something from every game but we haven't. We've missed the most big chances in the league which is 17, We've created joint 2nd most big chances in the league with 21 but someone only scored 4 of them. Only Arsenal have conceded more XG then us. We are currently 3rd in the XG table expected to be on 10pts. 6th in expected goals with 10.6 meaning we are underperforming by 5.6 goals.

We should've had Liverpool away wrapped up in the first half, Villa away wrapped before they equalised but obviously we won in the end. Palace away we should've been 3/4-0 up at HT but managed to lose. A wall splitting and goalkeeping error costs us a point v Leeds and Tottenham at Home we have a goal controversially ruled out in a game where we conceded 0 shots on target.

But I have one slight worry on the underperformance in front of goal Palace in the least two seasons created 58xg but only scored 41 goals and then the season before they created 61xg and scored 51 goals. So they've underperformed by 27 goals in 2 seasons. A pattern is emerging here already with us underperforming by 5 goals in 6 games. So this needs to change quickly.

But I think this season we hover around midtable because I do believe there will be some games where we demolish some teams. I think it can happen very soon as well.
