There's a very strong correlation between spending on wages and league position, obviously there are also outliers too but ultimately the more you can spend the greater you will do overall.

Could argue Spurs are an example of this, despite doing terribly for years they have still been able to spend silly amounts this summer.

Spurs were renowned for being careful with their spending until this summer. lets see where they finish at the end of this season. SCR only starts this season and it is expected it will strengthen the correlation between income/spending and league position. Also we have a large waiting lists of fans wanting to attend matches but can't. They are the fans of the future and if not able to get to watch games they will go elsewhere. I am alright because I have had a season ticket for years and keep renewing but I am in my 60's and wont be going forever. We need to bring new fans in.

I agree with you on some points but definitely not all. We do need to increase revenue particularly from commercial and agree our ageing fan base who actually attend games is a problem. There should be affordable tickets for families, whether we make it affordable in an expanded stadium is another matter.

The very very worst option is to move stadium to somewhere that loses the connection with the fan base. I say that as someone who would be delighted with Toton because I could walk there but for the majority it’s a disaster.
Successful relocations are clubs who have built or moved very close to the old ground or remain within a short distance, Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester, Everton.
I would hate to be like Southampton , Brighton ,Bolton with a stadium stuck on a motorway junction miles from anywhere. The truth is we have delayed the decision by decades, whilst 20 years ago there was plenty of building land we could have utilised in the city, now there is very little suitable. Which means Toton, Gamston or something else. Please don’t kid yourself that the NIMBYs in those areas wouldn’t be frothing at the mouth, marching on the council with flaming torches and demanding £10 million to relocate their bike shed.
How about Just support the club in what they are now trying to do.

The land where the Island Quarter is now would've been amazing (if it were big enough) but that ship has long sailed.

A shiny brand-new stadium in itself would be great, but not at some soulless, remote, out-of-town location.

We should never ever even consider leaving.

Some things are more important than income.

There is a much bigger picture to see than pound signs.
