All this talk of a new footbridge is very nice, but where on the North side would it go?

I walk over Trent Bridge every game then up through the Meadows into town, and agree that the current situation isn't great.
People cross the bridge to do the same plus, queue at bus stops to go to town, walk to train station for train/trams, go to cars parked in meadows area etc.
However, it's still better than a lot of other Premier league grounds I've been to.

I'm surprised that the council haven't tried to get us (well Mr Marinakis) to pay for a tram extension along the embankment, and a new bridge over Trent to the council offices!!!

From the wannabe designers I’ve seen on X the suggestion is a new bridge could go from the Trent End over towards the current area on the Meadows side owned by the Homes Agency. Think it’s used for County’s matchday parking at the moment. If feasible it’s not actually a bad idea as fans could use that route to get to the Meadow Land, Cattle Market etc parking. There was mention of extending the park and ride service so perhaps the park and ride buses and others could be routed to drop off/pick up outside Meadow Lane avoiding Trent Bridge altogether. It really only needs some joined up thinking/collaboration by all parties but then thats probably asking too much.

If Rushcliffe Borough Council insist Forest will have to first build a bridge across the Trent and a 2.5 meter flood barrier before being allowed to start developing the City Ground do we think that kills the development. Surely the Club have got to look at other sites which are easier to develop if that is the case.

Desperate for the club to to expand its fan base and income to allow it to compete in the premier league long term. This might be the only opportunity we get and need to make the most of it.

On the flip side we could change location, build a new stadium, get relegated and be well and truly screwed.

The current evidence also shows that we are competing in the PL just fine, right now the way we are.

With the alleged sums of money involved in the development, *if* EM has to fork out a bit more to build a bridge or flood defence or both then so what?

We should find out more tomorrow anyway as that's when the planning meeting is due to take place.

It will get increasingly more difficult to compete when Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) kicks in. This is the first season. Nearly every premier league team have either already moved to larger stadiums, expanding existing stadiums or have plans with planning permission to do one or the other. These developments have been brought forwarded by SCR.

Also the narrative that you need more money to compete isn't quite right. If you spend wisely you don't need as much.

Indeed. Greater revenue would enable us to spend more on transfers but that guarantees nothing. Look at Spurs.
