I just hope his doggedness doesn’t blind his decision making. We’ve been there with Billy.

Are you referring to the issue regarding  training or are you referring to something else?

For me i'm on the fence on the manager. Has not actually improved the squad (early days btw) and broke our no scoring run with his team after the January transfer window. However i understand that window was about making us tougher to beat and got rid a few players which was good.
I hoping the football we saw under AK was born more out of survival than the way he wants us to play so will wait to make a call on him.

The training issue.

The training issue for me proves he is pretty blunt that he wants players who are fit and wanting to play for Forest. There will be no slackers...………….. you do your training or you go away. That's the kind of manager I like and one that can be very successful.

Why should Murphy get special treatment ? All this does is set a bad example to other players.

I agree, players get a huge amount of money and should be prepared to train when the managers want them to. We need players who want to keep themselves fighting fit and not throw their dummy out when the manager pulls them up on something. I'm sick of sulky players, we've had our fair share over the last few years. If they don't want to play for the club ship them out!

Probably because Warbs brought him in fully in agreement with his reduced training terms.

Im guessing Murphy was training full time up to the point of Ireland's elimination from the WC and after dropped back on the training as agreed. It explains why his form dropped off a cliff.

Stupid decision imo to bring him in if he's not fully comitted. Clearly his commitment was only to play in the world cup.

  He matches Forest's new outlook.  Telling he's been brought in by the new owners.  He's a manager that matches their ambitions.  Their lockstep of ruthless ambition should bring us far more 'success' than the last 3 seasons...

In short, the manager and owners of Forest are of similar stuff.

It's about time Forest finally have owners and a manager that are singing off the same hymn sheet.  Professional, but yes, ambitious and ruthless... (I'm fully expecting a ruthless cull of players.)

The End of the Summer Transfer Window should tell us more about both of them (and the quality of players in so far, Fig', Dawson, ...and the Two Portuguese Wonder Kids gives us big clues where all of this is going this season...)

SA.

Quite the reverse.

It looks like Karanka has given Murphy a clean slate and that Murphy has responded in the right way.

That's good management in my opinion, a fit and hungry Murphy can certainly help us this season, most likely from the bench of course.
