We've built our time in Prem on playing wingers - Brenan, Elanga, CHO, we signed more last close season in Bakwa, Ndoye, and Hutchinson. It seems Glasner doesn't play with them, but prefers a 3 4 3 formation with wingbacks. I think Neco can do that, possibly Netz, but Aina might struggle? Is Cuiabana sold as he was more of a wingback I understand?
Glasner also apparently doesn't like players that take too much time on the ball like Sangare and probably McAtee and likes a mobile striker, which I'm not sure Chris Wood is.
Keeper is fine
I think Murillo, Milenkovic and Cunha/Aina might form a back 3 with Neco as one wingback.
Can see MGW and Hutch/Jesus playing as 10's if we go with two number 10's behind a forward. Not seeing much room for CHO, Ndoye. Could Bakwa be converted to a wingback?
I would say wingbacks, centre mids and forward needed. Prob a keeper and maybe a centre half. (Abbot and Morato, not sure???)

I think its good, our wingers were a clear weakness last season anyway. Plus MGW looked great as a wide forward.
We knew we needed a CF anyway (Mateta?!) and a replacement for Anderson. Would assume a wingback too.

I feel like this is definitely the most exciting managerial appointment in recent times (and done at a good time too for a change). Although the manager I was excited about previously (and this is relative to where we were at the time) was Chris Hughton so what do I know!

I agree. Can't remember a buzz around a managerial appointment. Usually we are cautiously optimistic at best, and totally perplexed and concerned at worse. Secondly, when we make a managerial change it's usually mid season and we're doing it because we are in the proverbial mire. In fact, when was the last time we made a managerial change between seasons.
Hopefully this optimism will survive contact with fixtures

Im just a bit worried that his 'good' managerial record can be read as:
1. Won the fa cup because Henderson didnt get sent off in the final
2. Won the Europa thing because they were the only semi decent side in it
3. Had a good record at Palace because of the talent already incumbent in that squad. Eze, Guehi, Mateta, Olise, Anderson.

That was just at Palace though. Remember we were interested in him *before* he went there.
He won the Europa League with Frankfurt and got LASK in Austria promoted and into Europe.

We finally have our man and a manager who fits the bill in the eyes of EM.
Silva and Glasner were always EM's top 2 targets and he now finally has one of them.

I don't care what is said about long term stability, reputations etc. At the point in time where Glasner loses 4 games on the spin, he'll be in the deep danger zone with Marinakis. Its the way the Big Man rolls.

I think EM has proved with Pedro Martins and with Jose Luis Mendilibar that he will give the right managers time. Mendilibar failed last season, Olympiakos won nothing but he has kept his job.

With Marinakis or our fanbase? I think the fans are worse tbh. The media is always talking about a manager being under pressure if anyone loses 4 on the spin.
Glasner went through a pretty bad run last season, 3 points out of 27 in December /January, should he have been sacked for that given how the season turned out in the end? He has to be given 2 seasons if we want to progress but we have to ride out bad patches too

I personally don't understand the "lucky FA cup" comment, most games, never mind a entire competition usually involve a element of luck. It also removes any credit for reaching the final in the first place and then winning against at team, who have an unfair financial advantage against everyone. Most folks just assumed City would win regardless of the Henderson decision so I think it's actually a good outcome overall and more then just got lucky.

I get the hesitation/concern some have about this because, well, it’s Forest. And it could go wrong. And we will need to give him time. (I think the fans will, and considering the lengths we’ll have gone to get him, I think Marinakis will too.)
But for me, this is the best appointment we could possibly have made. Far better than Silva. And as much as I loved Pereira, Glasner is an upgrade.
This is the most excited I’ve been for a pre-season and the season ahead since promotion.
I couldn’t be happier he’s our head coach.

Go back further than Palace.
Had outstanding success at Lask, Wolfsburg and Frankfurt.
Huge upgrade on any coach we have had during the Marinakis regime.
He was ungettable for us at the end of the season, and things have just fell for us to enable us to get him.
