Staff meeting this morning was about the forest project. All good stuff and reiterating that it is all systems go. Between now and the submission of the planning application there is goiong to be a focus on maximising the fan experience and engaging with supporter groups to incorporate their ideas. The message is that this stand is going to be something special, not run of the mill or formulaic. We will be touring the best stadia available for inspiration on how to improve the proposals further.

Are we able to confirm if this redevelopment will go ahead regardless of whether we gain promotion or not during the course of this and next season? Would hate to think it would be put on hold till we gain promotion?

Yes - Tails said yesterday that the project is not dependent on promotion.

Just out of interest, do you (or any other smokers) go to away games, if so is any provision made where a fan can have a beer and cig? or is it one or the other?

Is there any chance - when I attend away games - of going to the bog at half time without increasing my likelihood of contracting lung cancer 10 fold.
Just leave the fags until you’re outside the ground - sick to death of myself & my grandson running the gauntlet of smokers & feeling our way though the cigarette smoke just to have a pee.

PS Chances of new ground development taking smokers into consideration? Zero - and that’s how it must be.

I can't personally do fags in bogs, I don't do intervening in other peoples air space, I mean the combination of urine, cheap disinfectants, and cig smoke

as I said, I see myself as scum and not the sort of glossy, shiny, smiley happy family, dress suit type customer or whatever, I guess I am scum with a bit of taste and huge respect for others choices

what I do know is, that if they put a balcony or something somewhere, tucked away behind a stand or on top of it with fresh air and whatever view can be mustered, the scummy fan like me will turn up early, spend far more than the shiny fans on beer, food, merchandise and contribute to the atmosphere and help NFFC make huge profits, and happily stay for a pint afterwards, in fact i'd pay a bit extra to be served by pretty people, have nice food to choose from and be out of the way of kids and fuddy duddies, flask and the righteous and judgemental who drive off stuffing the air with more fumes in 30 minutes than I can shove into the air in 6 weeks

as it is the high street, the pubs are all collapsing because of neglecting the scum, maybe scum with taste, scum who like to have a choice, scum who do not want to intrude on others, if there is no place for me at the city ground other than the bogs i'll pass thanks

Would never describe smokers as ‘scum’ but there is a time & place.
Just not ( imho ) inside a football stadium ( personal space etc ).

It was real, wasn't it?

As a pre-BC supporter I've seen falls & rise, trophies & barren years, but the memories aren't just about the results, they are about the experience. I bet if each one of us searched our memories we could think of days where we've lost, but it didn't matter because you still had a fantastic day, because of your company, or your solitude, & through the energies of the crowd, of the actions of those around you, or because you ran naked on to the pitch, or whatever it was that made the day special for you.

That was part of the magic of football, 30,000 different souls, all united in the moment through the simple act of being there for the Forest.

I do think we're trying to get that back though, you see a little of it with people like Forza & so we are still trying to bring everyone in, but I do feel where you're coming from & I'm sure there are others with similar views, of other musings, or misgivings because, let's not kid ourselves, this is good for the club, but it's being done for corporate reasons.

This is one area I have less misgivings with when it comes to EM, because he's a supporter, not of us, of Oly, but a supporter is a supporter, he gets it. That's why there will be consultations with fans groups but also a survey for supporters, on the official website.

I believe they also have a feedback contact so fans do have an option to input to this still, if they wish, & don't forget elements of this have been designed partially with guidance in some areas from the previous fan survey, eg. planned concourse works & upgrades to refreshment & hygiene facilities.

The PR speech he did with the 'City Ground being our home forever.'

It blew me away.  I thought, 'This guy gets it.'

We've waiting along time for this.

It's like some kind of dream for both of them to be happening at the same time.

I too am of the generation of squashed and swaying in the Trent end. However, when you take you son who is still scared to go for a piss at the ground and when at an away game at villa being able to get decent food and drink without queuing for 15 minutes you realise that in this day and age the demands of fans require more services from their match day experience. Against Brentford the whole family came and made a day of it. I spent near on £100 on top of tickets but not a penny in the ground because of crap facilities. We had a great day but Forest lost out on my £££ as food and drink is crap or vastly over priced.
This is needed and will enable future growth and success.

Yes, we should definitely be providing more & that is very much a long over due priority in this project.

Again it's why the fan consultation part of this shouldn't be over looked, it shows the right attitude from the club & allows us to continue to play a part in shaping our future.

My family helped construct (& pull down) the old Town ground, my family had stadium bonds to help contribute to the new ground (City ground), my family contributed to the old main stand & kicked in again when it burned down & needed replacing, now my family & your family & all the other fans, get an input in this.

That's continuity, that's keeping the spirit & the soul of the club in our hands.

That fact can't be understated.

This club belongs to us & we now have an owner who understands that.

Forest, by the people, for the people.

I actually experienced seeing a chap being introduced to perform the solo on a bass, which was actually a 6 string bass, is the answer in the Bass? they gonna serve Bass instead of Mud in the plastic glasses?
