I think they've identified their man and have gone all out to get him. Its a bold move, having sacked 2 managers this season already. We'll find out if it's madness or genius over the five or six weeks. The five year contract just means the payout is greater when they sack him in the future. They're a rich club, they'll be able to do that.

I think his abilities are questionable. Was he that successful at Brighton?

I think both Hughton and Potter were just as good at Brighton if that helps.

Yep, that's my point. Brighton is a club where any coach, no matter who he is or what his ability, tends to do well. Brentford is that same. 

If De Zerbi's good reputation has been gained predominantly from his time at Brighton then Spurs may be in for a shock (In the same way that they did with Frank from Brentford). I know little about him. Has he been anywhere else and been successful?

Took Marseille to 2nd in France last year including beating PSG in a game (I'm just quoting the BBC article now)

Apparently they spent a load of money and collapsed this season though.

Reading through the recent comments on here regards De Zerbi/Spuds, I think a few are clutching at straws regards what may happen at the club, I keep reminding fellow posters thats all about US, sod all the other teams around us we have to get out of this mess ourselves, what happens at other clubs is irrelevant.

Absolutely we are in the driving seat and it's in our hands. Unbeaten in 3 in the prem with 2 big home games to come. 

Villa and Burnley both very winnable, if we do that would see us pretty much safe in my view. Just need to keep the habit of scoring goals, Wood as an option on the bench will be a huge boost.

If West Ham and Spurs lose every game we will be fine regardless of what we do. So obviously it matters what they do, it's infuriating you keep pushing this point.

Yes, obviously we need to do well but there are so many examples of S**t teams staying up due to there be 3 even shitter teams, just look at last year as an example.

Its my own view and I am not for one looking through rose tinted glasses Wassy. Yes we have both stated our views on this matter in the past but I will just beg to differ if thats OK?

No one's looking through rose tinted glasses. The performances of other clubs have a direct result on our club now. If West Ham hadn't improved their form then we'd still have Dyche as our manager. And our recent improvement in form, alongside West Ham's, has heaped huge pressure on Spurs who are panicking. Clubs behind you playing well adds pressure. West Ham's, Spurs and Leed's form over the next 7 games are incredibly important to us. We're in a four way fight. Leeds will be worrying if a few results go against them.

They may be saying that but everyone knows our competitor's results are just as important as our own. You telling me the players wont feel a bit more pressure if this next game week all the others get results and we get beaten?

And that doesn't just apply to us. What will it do to Spurs if West Ham beat Wolves and Spurs get dragged into the bottom three? There's no way they just brush that off - as fragile as they've looked this season.
