I have us surviving on 39 and West Ham dropping on 37 and counting on a last day win vs Bournemouth.

Dont blame me if Im wrong!

Just realised its West Ham v Leeds final day!

I had us on 41 and West Ham 35, Spurs/Leeds were miles ahead of us though. Shows they must have better fixtures left.

I have Forest on 42. I reckon 39 will be enough

Opta is neutral and backs up what we've posted so far I'd say.

West Ham - 71%
Forest - 23%
Spurs - 5%
Leeds - 2%

Do spurs have a good run, surprised so low.

Yeah they do, they've had a hard run of games recently which has been part of the reason for their poor form. Got a nice run coming up.

This model has a weighting for quality of team too based on advanced stats, so perhaps Spurs are rated higher. When I predicted the scores I had Spurs about 6 clear of us.

Spurs/Leeds % would obviously go up a fair bit if West Ham win a few games.

I think the last 3 PL games that Dyche was in charge will come back and bite us on the bum end of the season, I think we should had FIVE points more then today, we would be above both Spuds and dirty Leeds in the table. I also think that we have ther hardest set of fixtures from those in the relegation battle, missed the boat already and need a major loss of form by one of them for this to change.

Also to add to the above comment football is not played out by stats (Opta, AI or whatever the lasted fad is) its 11 human players on each side all prone to mistakes or somthing out of nothing, we have to hope fate is on our side end of the this season!

So instead of looking at actual statistics and facts, you're basing everything you're saying purely on emotions/vibes, got it. Then you basically say its down to fate!

Football is not playing out by vibes either. West Ham have the hardest remaining schedule, followed by us. Leeds/Spurs have easier games left. We also have 2 extra points.

There are certain criteria that OPTA cannot take into consideration like injuries. Spurs have a load of players out and quite a few will not be back this season. They do not have any wide players and are really short of defenders.

Good point Jurgen regards injuries, what if either Jesus or Pizza get injured in the next few games, where are the goals coming from?

The model uses betting odds for individual matches and their own model so that kind of thing will have been factored in. Obviously its all just odds, not every favourite wins, these kind of models just give an approximation of where we lie right now, takes the emotion and negative bias out of it.

I suspect a large % of Spurs fans will think their chances of relegation are much higher than 5%, for example. In reality they have just had a tough run and have easier games even with the injuries.
