Are We Going Down?
I felt after about 20 minutes that we weren't going to score. And that total inability to finish will be our undoing. Unless chris wood makes some miraculous recovery then we are cooked.
Best start talking to agents for championship players cos we are going to need to bring in a load a players after the mass exodus. Recruitment has been out biggest downfall.
Yes.
No, we're just going to do it the hard way
Recruitment of coaches has been our biggest downfall.

That’s the team that qualified for Europe bar Elanga and Wood. So tell me why with all those internationals are playing like a Sunday league team chucking it in the box all the time.

We had this under Hughton, I’ve said it all season. Terrible coaches make players look bad. Those players are not terrible.
West Ham and Leeds look so much better than us and it’s not even close.

We can’t even beat possibly the 2nd worst team in prem history at home. (And we were lucky to beat them away.)

Unless something changes, we’ll be down.

To some extent you've hit the nail on the head by the two players we are missing. Had we not had wood and elanga in the team last season we would probably be in a similar position to now. How many points did those two add last season?

It’s not about those 2 players. We never played like this last season. And if Nuno was still in charge we wouldn’t be playing like this. It’s fundamentally a clueless approach to playing football from the past.

The difference they made last season is clear from tonight.
We have no one to stretch a team with pace and create space for chances.

Simple as.
I don’t expect Elanga pace but even so, I can’t believe how slow our wingers are.

I don't know... Towards the end of the season under Nuno we looked pretty bereft of ideas. We were heavily reliant on those two for goals and then our back five to hold firm.

Our form since last April has been pretty shocking.

People forget this.

Recruitment did nothing for us at all.
