But having said the above, I do actually think he's doing OK. He might not be a long term manager for us but he's probably what we need right here, right now.

He gives the odd bit of praise to fans but you can tell this is just for pr purposes, you can tell he just thinks fans are know nowts and just an irritating impediment to him doing the great job he thinks he's doing. Beats Ange talking endlessly about himself and his time at Tottenham.

Yes, he certainly did love us, but how would his low block football sit with the idealists?

Plenty complained about subs and scraping over the line. This squad is setup for Nuno which makes Dyche a natural fit.

I don’t think any of the positive Dyche comments advocate him managing the national team, or ever will, and I suspect a large proportion do not advocate him beyond the end of the season. It’s all about recognising the circumstances he was dealt and ensuring we avoid the worse case scenario.

Always loved the man, but really fell out with his football. After his low block achieved success, he was reluctant/unable to move away from it. That did for him eventually.

He tried to be attacking in the first year and then switched to the low block tactic. I mean we've pretty much played the same tactic under Nuno and now Dyche. Just had better players than under Cooper. We were pretty attacking in the EFL too, shouldn't be forgotten.

It was more negative than Nuno's game. Our recent game at Brentford reminded me very much of a Cooper game. For a large part we were pinned back and unable to even find an out ball. We'd clear, fail to hold the ball up, lose it and it'd come right back. We couldn't string more than 2 passes together it was that poor.

Well yeah Nuno had better players, aside from that Newcastle game straight away Nuno's performances were pretty similar when he took over. The signings made that summer massively upgraded the team, Anderson & Milenkovic made a big impact. You could also say Nuno's coaching improved the likes of Elanga, Wood, CHO, Neco which would be fair too. There's definitely been a regression this year, partly just due to the situation and injuries though under Dyche. Looked noticeably better since Aina and Sangare have come back in. I fear what it'll be like tonight without Neco though.

Short memories- look at the equaliser v Man City under cooper.
Cooper always a hero to me… Nuno - a large amount of respect from me but he has form when he wants out… Ange - always the wrong fit - reminded me of Joe Kinnear with his lack of connection with the fans… Dyche - jury out but very difficult job when he came in. Enjoyed some games of his - spurs / Liverpool / Arsenal for different reasons / Porto… but hated others Braga / Everton twice … we seem to have stopped shipping goals but need more in attack. Hope we do! |
