Only the second team to shut out Arsenal and only the 2nd team to beat Brentford at home this season too.

It is an interesting contrast between what a group of independent adjudictors and a very small minority of our support, think. It is a contrast between realism and a fantasy world; failing to give any allowance for Dyche taking over directly after a catastrophic period of management under Postecoglu - a period which had destroyed the very fabric of what the previous seasons success had been built on, is incredibly naive. Restoring confidence and togetherness is not done on the flick of a switch, and the same applies with trying to cope without your main goal scoring striker. At least those people on the outside looking in, feel what Dyche has done is worthy of some merit.

For me Dyche has done okay nothing more and nothing less.
He came with a mission and we are on course to achieve that mission. However nots let get carried away because he has been nominated for manager of the month. It's most likely all to do with Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Villa all stuttering more than anything else. I haven't checked but I think we are one place higher in the table since Dyche took over so there is a touch of reality there. I like Sean but to be fair there are two sides to this debate. I don't think either side is completely black or white. All views seem valid although they are opposites.

Surely the remit was to finish at least one place higher than when he was appointed? That’s a positive metric upon which he should be judged.
I’m sure the knives will be out and in full flow tonight once we get beat.

So finishing fourth bottom would be a great success?
Don't think EM will see it that way. The knives may be out tonight we will wait and see. The Dyche for England campaign may start if we win.

We sit 10th in the form table for the games Dyche has been in charge, with 21 points from 16 games; surely that is all he can be judged on. The mess he inheritted should not be under estimated - Ange left us in a downward spiral with confidence levels at an all time low for this bunch of players. Compare that with Nuno during his first half season, where, despite us finishing 17th in the league, he had us at 13th in the current form table with 22 points from 20 games. That is not the only comparison with Nuno; I recall that at the time, there was also dissafection for the style of football he was playing, and that continued into the following season. Whatever Dyche achieves between now and the end of the season, I cannot see it being enough for EM. Do you think that Silva's agent will prevent him becoming our next manager?

I think the problem Dyche has is he comes across as being a bit arrogant, always telling fans what a good job he's doing, always saying how hard it is to get a result in the prem, like we should be really thankful to him that he's saving our club from, what would have been without him, an inevitable relegation. He gives the odd bit of praise to fans but you can tell this is just for pr purposes, you can tell he just thinks fans are know nowts and just an irritating impediment to him doing the great job he thinks he's doing.
Now he might be right about those kind of things, but I've quickly become tired of his message, especially when it follows a few really poor performances. I think a lot of it is probably down to him having a career that based on self preservation. I guess the Everton fans got bored of him telling them they were shite and lucky to be staying up. |
