There are some things you fabricate like a key player or two might be out injured only for them to make a miraculous recovery and start the game (ahem, Cooper!). But massive fall out behind the scenes and potential sacking of the manager no.

Agreed.

It's too far fetched.

Think it's a storm in a teacup personally. No more than the T situation which was soon resolved despite sky and Gary Bev going mental over it

There is not enough space in the room for both Edu and Nuno.
There is a real animosity there, where Nuno is the aggressor.
EM has 2 options
1) move Edu out of Forest and get him doing more with the group.
2) sack Nuno and get Edu choice of manager

Spot on. Personally, I hope it’s choice 1 Afterall Forest’s transfer business must be nearly done and the window closes soon so just let Nuno get on with his job and get Edu to get on with overseeing the rest of EMs group. Sadly, I suspect it will be choice 2 and someone Edu can get on with.

There is an interesting psychology on here where reading back many people seem to have shifted their position from “Nuno must stay, I’ll never forgive Forest if he leaves” to “This is all on Nuno, if he goes so be it”.

We seem to have done this as the narrative and spin from different factions has evolved despite none of us really knowing what is going on. It was quite similar with Cooper and the personality clash was there too. Difference being Coopers results at the end made his job untenable regardless, very different situation now.

I wonder what Edu did to offend Nuno so much. I don't remember him having any issues like this at Arsenal. Sounds like a power thing, didn't have it at Arsenal then comes here, does who knows what to show he's in charge and Nuno doesn't like it whatever it was.

Sunday is going to be a weird game.

Personally I hope that they can both resolve their differences. As far as I can tell Edu has tried to recruit players with good characters which will help with the harmony amongst the group.

We have strength in depth and most managers would be chomping at the bit to see what we could achieve this season.

Yep, this is what always happens, people believe everything that is leaked. Same thing happened with the MGW situation, accusing him of all sorts. We learned from that, if they make up and we win some games everyone will forget.

The actual facts in this situation, Nuno criticised presumably Edu for not signing anyone before the Cas appeal went through. After rumours that he was being replaced, Nuno then said there was a breakdown in their relationship and he was worried about being replaced.

We don't know what's happened behind the scenes but regardless, not entirely sure why Nuno chose to voice his concerns? Not really sure what he was hoping to get from it?

Issues at Arsenal:

“Edu and Arteta have always enjoyed an excellent personal relationship but, in recent windows, members of Arsenal’s coaching staff have exerted an increasing influence over first-team recruitment. That came to a head late this summer, when the club found themselves embroiled in a convoluted deal for Joan Garcia, a goalkeeper at Espanyol in Spain’s La Liga. In the final 48 hours of the window, an exasperated Edu had to extricate Arsenal from that negotiation and pivot to signing Bournemouth’s Neto on loan.

In his proposed role with Mariankis’ group, Edu would take a role where he is likely to have regular, direct contact with the owner. He would possess greater authority.“

Also

“I hope that he stays here for a long time because I think it’s going to be a really positive thing for the club,” Arteta said of his colleague. “I work with him really well and I think he’s a super important figure at the club that represents all of the values and ideas that we want to take the right way, and hopefully that will be the case.”

Only 54 days have passed since but the dynamic has changed significantly after a poor start to the season characterised by injury and ill-discipline. Edu is thought to have been frustrated by the decision not to spend big in last summer’s transfer window after Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea at the last minute instead of bringing in more costly attacking reinforcements, and his ambition eventually to take over as chief executive looked no closer to being fulfilled.

Insertion of another layer of management.
This new manager comes in immediately tries to ‘make his mark’ and justify his position bringing ‘change’ and ‘new ideas’.

Ie throwing his weight around.

Seen it many times.

Now, no one knows what the catalyst for this situation was, or even whether this is a ‘situation’ at all; but from the outside I know that a manager who has stabilised a team, developed young players for the club to make a profit and beat PSR whilst leading us into Europe for the first time in a generation has certainly accrued far more brownie points than a new guy who I know nothing about.

Thats it. Its the same scenario that happens in work places up and down the country when a new manager comes in from outside. The difference here is that the individuals involved are extremely arrogant, hence being at the top of their profession.

Unfortunately the sport we follow is ruled by mega rich egotists. It’s the same with F1 and most popular sports. It makes it quite hard to love at times.
