It's always infuriated me that we pack the whole team into the penalty area when defending corners. We've done it for what seems forever & under multiple managers, who obviously know more than I do about football but I just can't get my head around it.
Not only does it create chaos in an overcrowded space but it also allows the opposition to send more of their players into a dangerous position AND if we somehow do manage to get a clearance in we have NOBODY in a position to pick the ball up & it just gets pinged straight back into the danger area again :head:

Zonal marking is a terrible thing yet we continue to do it. Never allow anybody a run on you is what I've always been taught. Zonal does that. The screenshot for the Luton goal is damning. We're all lined up on the 6 yard box whilst Burke gets a free run to nod it down.

In theory the attacking team has a maximum of 9 players (more often 8) in the box from a corner. We can have 10 outfield players. That leaves 2 spare. Go man for man with men on the posts OR place two free men zonally to attack the ball. I’m also a fan of leaving at least one if not two men up field. It makes the attacking team second guess.

I know we shouldn't be looking to far down the road when it comes to matches but now we know where we are and that there is only 9 games left of the season i can't help myself.
Forest have 4 games from the last 9 you could consider winnable of which 2 are the bottom two.
Luton have 3 games but a lot more potential draws from teams reaching end of season with nothing to play for in the league.
Everton have 5 games from 10 they would consider winnable and they will have the biggest impact on the relegation places with the games against bottom 6 teams.
Brentford have 4 games they would consider winnable.
So looking objectively 8 points from 9 games will more than likely keep forest up.
This run in is going to be tough for the fans.

Well it's time for the final few games to come about.
Two massive games at 3pm that will have an impact on Forest staying up.
West ham v Luton is probably the most significant one with West Ham looking tired and low on confidence then add into the mix the players know the manager is gone anyway. It is no need to explain why we are feeling nervous on this as it is the perfect time to be playing West ham who have nothing to play for. That said West Ham have only lost 4 at home and Luton only won two away, but we all know shocks come at this stage of the season and we only have to look to last season to see an example of it.
Luton Town will be relegated:
If they lose at West Ham AND Nottingham Forest avoid defeat
If they lose AND Burnley win, even if Forest lose;
If they draw AND Forest win.
If Both Luton and Forest have the same result Luton must win with a goal swing of 11 required.
Spurs v Burnley - Spurs are on a run of 4 losses in a row and now out of the race for the top 4. That being said i don't think Ange is the kind of manager who will just let his team limp to the end of the season and will want his team to perform before Man City arrive. Burnley have improved but with it a win or nothing then i expect them to leave to much space for an attacking team like spurs.
Burnley will be relegated:
If they fail to win at Tottenham on Saturday, whatever happens elsewhere;
If Nottingham Forest win against Chelsea.
If Burnley win and Forest draw then Burnley need to beat forest by 17 goals as the goal difference stands

After today, we have another reasonable run of games:
Fulham H
Chelsea A
Palace H
Leicester A
West Ham H
Newcastle H
This is up until the Nov international break. We'll arguably go in as slight favourites in all those games aside from Chelsea away (and maybe Newcastle). Decent chamce to maintain the solid start and build momentum before the fixtures turn hard in Dec when we play most of the top 6 sides.

I would say if we want to be mid table then we need to think like a mid table team and consider all those teams as equal to us. Not better not worse. We are on a even playing field with them all. Should we lose it's not the end of the world and should we win we shouldn't be going over board. 9 points would be a reasonable return.
