Not sure about that Oz.
I’d like to think that at worst it’s an agreement in principle subject to other sales not going through.
Ie only a fall back position. A last resort.
((Which would be prudent planning).
Anyway does anyone know if the mangala deal is going thru and if the alleged £20m PSR deficit includes or excludes this transaction?
Percy has already said the Mangala money is already included.
We need 20m profit outside of that
He said 20 million sales.

Sales are irrelevant
Profit is the currency
He either made an error or doesn’t understand FFP

This is what happened when Juventus tried the above tricks that it seems Villa and Chelsea and others are doing.

Just a reminder that buying and selling academy players isn’t a free hit. You book an upfront profit on the sold player but are going to be carrying the amortized cost of the bought player over his contract so it will act as a financial drag for future years. Ie not something you can keep doing / do at ever larger size without it coming back to hurt you.

Agreed but if it helps get past the PSR concerns this year without the need to sell off a crown jewel then worth it I think

Forest could've helped themselves a little with PSR by getting their new home, away and third kits out before end of June!
It’s little things like that add up, I am sure

I guess that's where you end up when your kit supplier is Adidas and you're not a top side.

The Premier League has written to its 20 clubs to remind them they will be punished for fraudulent player transfers, as scrutiny grows on the so-called swap deals which have been done by certain clubs in an attempt to generate funds to be compliant with financial controls.
The email to clubs went out after days of unusual activity in the transfer window which has seen certain clubs sell – or attempt to sell – one another players. It has been identified in some cases as an attempt to add book value before the end of the financial year on Sunday in order to comply with profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).
The Premier League’s legal team has warned clubs that his department is looking for “issues of concern” around whether deals represent good faith “arm’s length” transactions over £1 million. It has the power to request from clubs details on how the negotiations took place, including correspondence externally and internally and any other documentation.
If the league decides that the transfer was not conducted at arm’s length it can then impose fair market value (FMV) rules. Those rules apply on the league’s handbook to associated party transactions. Those govern deals for players or commercial contracts between a Premier League club and another entity who may share the same ownership. Those rules are intended to stop the false inflation of commercial deals, and also to stop clubs in a multi-club ownership group trading players on deals that do not reflect accurate prices.
The FMV rules for assessing the fair value of a player lists 18 factors it applies and details at length in appendix 19 of the Premier League handbook. Those include everything from the player’s age, to his position, playing statistics, honours, and injury history. On the club side, the Premier League will assess the “financial state and relative bargaining position” of the clubs involved and “any urgent need for liquidity” in the selling club.
Herbert has reminded clubs that it has the power to order the return of a transfer fee, in full or in part, to a buying club if it judges that the fee has been inflated. It reminds clubs they are obliged to act in all deals with “utmost good faith” and provide accurate financial information at all times.

By the way, posted the above from Percy as general interest, not having a go at Forest specifically. Its clear whats going on but I would be far more comfortable with the Forest director of finance explaining the admittedly generous looking deals for 2 established international players than Villa trying to explain why they have received £60m for a bunch of 18 year olds.

Yeah probably not unreasonable that are players increase in value due to playing regular premier league football, definitely Mangala.
