Are you a selfish git who wants Forest to stay small and at the City Ground ?
or
Do you want Forest to become a big club who are regulars in Europe ?
And there is the choice. Stay where we are and be small OR new stadium and become a top level club.
You missed an option, which is..........
Have a nice big shiny stadium with half empty seats as the club wallows in the Championship basement.
If the heirarchy take that attitude nothing will get done.
You just do not plan for failure
But we should plan for failure because it is a realistic option.
In military terms not planning for failure will get you killed.
Lets get this straight, moving into a brand new shiny 50,000 seater stadium guarantees us absolutely nothing. It may increase our chances of becoming more successful but that is as far as it goes.

It looks great doesn't it with 20,000 empty pink seats.
Just think...that could be us.
And anybody who thinks that is not a possiblity even if it's a small one is kidding themselves.

Of course it is a possibility but if you don’t plan for succcess you pretty much guarantee you are not going to be succesful. And Sunderland are not currently filling there stadium but just watch sell out if they get back into the premier league. They already have the infastructure in place to benef.

They did have that stadium in the premier league. Never always a sell out and look where they ended up.

So the story of Sunderland justifies us not having ambitions to compete at the top end of the premier league knowing that in order to do that we need to vastly increase our income. Who is to say Sunderland don’t get promoted next season and we get relegated. In which case with new rules they would be much better equipped to thrive than we are even will be with a 35,000 capacity old stadium. Every outcome in life is possible and we could build a 50,000 stadium at Toton and get relegated but doing so improves our chances because of greater income. Sometimes it sounds like our owner is more ambitious than our supporters when for most clubs it is the other way around.

It looks like football spending is going to be based upon 80% of income. We are light years behind the top dozen teams. Our local rivals have potential for making more income than we do. The only way we will be able to compete at the top level is to have a much bigger stadium which is designed for multi use and monopolise most of the hospitality income generated from match day and other events. The City Ground site is simply not big enough. Demand for tickets grows every season we remain in the premier league. The city ground is iconic but it is no longer fit for purpose for where the club wants to go. If a new stadium is well designed there is no reason it will lack atmosphere. I was at Tottenham this season and thought the stadium was good for atmosphere. At the end of the day it is people who create the atmospher.
Yet a new stadium would be 5 plus years away, so how do we compete till then? A
We could be back in league one in 5 years.
And your point is what. Might as well plan for that scenario then and not bother trying to progress and establish ourselves at the top table.
Or stop f*****g about, get serious about redevelopment of the PT stand which we could have done 3 years ago, start now and it would be open for season 25/6.
£100 m for 5,000 extra seats. Is that either cost effective or especially ambitious.
The plans for the new PT stand isn't just for an extra 5k seats.
It involves a much better and bigger corporate capacity, media, improved player facilities etc
Currently the club are able to sell corporate tickets at anywhere from 3x 15x the price of a regular seat (with some extra costs).
I'm also sure that if the club do develop the PT stand the plans will have changed over the years and will expect them to be more ambitious.
Either option can be done well or badly.

I don't live locally so don't really know the Toton area but from doing some reading, why can't the Eastcroft site be used? It sounds like a compromise situation though not sure whether the "green" eco-friendly option could be included - this should be a priority though.

Be prepared and starting looking out for PR campaign to turn fans (or try to) against City Ground
And look out for burner accounts appearing on Twitter at the relevant time
No strategy or thinking, just arrogance to think everyone will fall in line … mixed with various lies that have now been exposed about council objections etc.
The irony is: it is possibly true. Forest would become much bigger with a 50k stadium. But f**k that. 40k at a new look CG would be amazing and we could fill in the corners properly to go bigger.
In the meantime they want more fans so instead of filling in corners properly they put in boxes for corporate revenue. I get it more money but less people watching showing not bothered about the average fan
Those boxes are costing £7m. Waste of money! But will be interesting to see them going up

I think we should redevelop the city ground.
While I get the whole revenues argument, we do need to remember we're in nottingham. There's never going to be as much need in nottingham for big event spaces as quite a few other cities in the country. Plus we already have the ice arena setup for that in the actual city center. It's never going to make huge amounts of money compared to a facility in London, Manchester, Birmingham etc.
And yes, a new corporate stadium does not guarantee success. I'd actually put having a soul as something that attracts players and wins you points. Money is very easily wasted....
