19 home games a season is nowhere near enough for making the money we should be looking at.
You need at the very least double that amount, attracting other Sports to hold games and finals there and more music concerts.
You need conference facilities and other anchor tenants like a hotel.
You need activity 365 days a year, something to match EMs ambition
I get the argument and I realise you are speaking logically and dispassionately which is fine. A new complex would increase turnover and the argument that to use any venue for only 19 days a year is commercial madness. I voted on the fence myself in the recent poll on here.
I will be honest, I don’t trust our current chairman and I didn’t trust our previous one either. Carteldge has blatantly lied about the council and he has a huge conflict of interest. That is why I still think we are being sold snake oil.
By the way if Ashley is raking in the money from Coventry and not the football club then whats the point? By that logic we build a hotel and its run by someone else, Forest don’t get the revenue. It defeats the object.
When the CBS, formerly the Ricoh, was built, it was a three way partnership between the Football Club, a Local Charity and Coventry City Council.
The Football Club had financial difficulties and sold their stake back to the other two; along came The Wasps, who made an offer for the Stadium; Wasps took out a ten year Bond to pay for the Stadium only to end up going under.
The Football Club could not afford to buy the Ground so along came Ashley who purchased it.
The rumours at the time was that it made no sense for Ashley to own the Ground and not the Football Club; well it made perfect sense to Ashley; he now owns the money making side of things - and they make shed loads
So it's not impossible to see a scenario where Forest get relegated in a few years, EM decides to sell up and we fond ourselves in a Coventry situation with no income and a crippling debt on a new stadium. To save ourselves we flog the stadium to our next owner but the football club then generates no income from it.
End result Forest are a Championship team with no money playing in a 50k stadium in Toton. Still we will be able to pay £10/pint for some Forest brand cheap beer cos theres nowhere else to go.

Anything is possible but I struggle to see the scenario where EM sells when the value is at its lowest.
It’s not good business nor is it good ego.
No one wants to go to Toton nor will we - though it may end up being the training camp we need and Wilford gets sold off to help fund it. I’m sure the current owner would prefer the Marinakis complex rather than the Nigel Doughty Academy.
There are three facts-
1. We need more revenue to achieve our ambitions
2. The current CG proposal can’t provide that and
3. It remains an iconic location, probably the best in the UK with TB next door.
I said it elsewhere- I believe the real plan is to get a bigger footprint at the CG so we can get the commercial income at a superb location- both cash and soul.
Maybe that’s niaive but it’s certainly the hope.

Fulham is Riverside and managed to build the new stand. Obviously there was no prospect of a move for them in London mind

I thought that new stand looked a bit Meh compared to the swanky pictures when it was announced tbh.

Yes cos they took advantage of a loophole. Wonder why our owner not looking to do the same while you can.
Clever or cheating. You do what you have to do. We overspent and got caught and penalised.

Despite all the hassle we've had over the last year with the authorities, my feeling is that Marinaks still wants to do things properly with regard to our governance. I reckon the business with selling Brennan beyond the deadline was an honest miscalculation on the basis that he assumed common sense would win the day ahead of the strict letter of the law.

Percy's latest article saying we need to raise only £20m in sales and are hoping to do it via fringe players rather than the big two.

I'd love that to be the case. But as we know getting rid of fringe players is not easy. So this way has no guarentee nor will it be straight forward. We have just got to hope the interest in the fringe players is sufficient to make it Happen.

4m for Worrall
Turner should still be worth a bit. 5-7m
Vlachodimos - 4m
Lewis O'Brien - 4/5m
Emmanuel Dennis - 4/5m
Josh Bowler - 1/2m - Had a decent season in the Championship.
Omar Richards - A loan fee that covers his cost for this year.
I might be a little optimistic on them figures but that should hit the 20m mark

The positives we are showing a positive trend in reducing the amount we are over by so that should be a positive should we be put before a IC again. Last year 34.5m over this year would be a 20m deficit. A positive trend at least should nobody leave before now and the 30th June.

Sales are irrelevant for PSR.
It’s all about the profit.
You could sell Sangare for 20m and make a 10m loss or sell Murillo for 20m and make a 10m profit.
PSR is profit and loss related and not a sales figure.
