Much as we all love the City Ground, faced with the choice of spending hundreds of millions to update something that still will not be fit for purpose or future proof - or relocating to a new purpose built modern facility with everything that goes with it - I can understand where the owners are coming from.
Would also solve the logistics of how we maximise crowds whilst the stadium is being upgraded.
Would need to be one hell of a development to make it worthwhile though for me (ie not pride park lol).
First the points and then the pints….

I am not sure Toton will happen, It will definitely be somewhere a lot closer to the City Ground imo.

How about using part of Colwick country park and turning this into a major sports & leisure complex, next to the river and good access, possibly even a new bridge?

Not sure if has been put on here before, where exactly in Toton is earmarked?
Also, why isn't the area in Gamston a possability now, a few years ago it was?

That’s the spot. Where the hs2 hub would have been. The toton tram terminus to the right and toton sidings to left. If some kinda of integrated and cheap transport strategy could be worked out to get fans there on these two modes without ruining everyone’s experience (especially on the tram) then it could be viable

I still think Toton is a red herring. There has been slow take up of the redevelopment plan of Radcliffe on soar. Sustainability keeps being mentioned as does EON. Radcliffe is being demolished in September 2024.
