I do wonder though, this is purely hypothetical, had we had our promotion winning team in the PL last season what would have happened. Im not criticising and we couldn’t have kept that squad together regardless for many different reasons. But just saying it all came together and we had a squad pulling in the same direction that was more than the sum of its parts, bit like Luton this year.

I'll be honest and admit the standard in the premier league is much much higher than i thought it was. I was pretty sure that Spence, Worrall, Davis etc had the ability to cope.

I think cherry picking and add Taiwo and MGW to the promotion team and it would've worked. Those FA Cup games showed what they were capable of

But how terrible were the back 4 at the start Wassy? We were a million miles off the pace. Eg every shot outside the box was going in against us. How often does that happen now?

Its ironic that this team is vastly superior to last season's and yet its this side that might go down.

Oh yeah I'm talking about the hypothetical promotion team not the one we actually had! Worrall, Cook, Mckenna, Spence, Lowe. Although yes that still doesn't sound great really. Garner and Zinc weirdly were missed last year.

Different question but do you blame the back 4 for.every shot going in from outside the box? I'd of thought as a defence that's what you want to happen, shots outside the box only.

Luton have scored 5 goals more than us, indeed only 6 goals fewer than we managed in the whole of last season. Dare I say it they are playing better football too.

At their current trajectory they'll be finishing higher than us, palace, brentford. Who would've predicted that?

Shows there is more than one way of being successful in this League.

I would say that 9 out of 10 times though it wouldn't work.

If we would have done that we would have probably been relegated with a points total lower than Derby's

Completely agree with you - Luton are freaks, if you do t spend you normally end up like Sheffield United.

I think we’re better than last season, just had some bad luck. Let’s hope we produce a few results and pull away and don’t get a 10 point deduction for silly accounting

We definitely need a bit of a run, like we did before the world cup last winter.

We’ve beaten last seasons away points total (9 away points currently) still with 7 away games left

Definite progress there

Confused about brentfords goal. Our favourite cheat Toney standing in an offside position, keeper takes a GK (Toney still offside) then "cleverly" blocks ake from challenging for the ball which bounces straight through to maupay.. what am I missing?

I think what's your missing is when Toney was banned he read up on how to be a bigger cheating bar steward than he already was.
