The Premier League 2023/24
So there you have it, Luton Town squad cost £25m are officially ahead of Nottingham Forest squad cost £250m
Luton have scored 5 goals more than us, indeed only 6 goals fewer than we managed in the whole of last season. Dare I say it they are playing better football too.

At their current trajectory they'll be finishing higher than us, palace, brentford. Who would've predicted that?

Min 1 point required from us tomorrow now. We really need a result.

Shows there is more than one way of being successful in this League.

I would say that 9 out of 10 times though it wouldn't work.

If we would have done that we would have probably been relegated with a points total lower than Derby's

Oh I absolutely agree Sniffer, plenty teams have done the same approach and failed miserably. But it does go to show what a united squad can achieve with little resources.

There’s your proof of what usually happens when you spend bugger all. Sheff Utd 0-3 down in 20 mins.

I do wonder though, this is purely hypothetical, had we had our promotion winning team in the PL last season what would have happened. Im not criticising and we couldn’t have kept that squad together regardless for many different reasons. But just saying it all came together and we had a squad pulling in the same direction that was more than the sum of its parts, bit like Luton this year.

I'll be honest and admit the standard in the premier league is much much higher than i thought it was. I was pretty sure that Spence, Worrall, Davis etc had the ability to cope.

I think cherry picking and add Taiwo and MGW to the promotion team and it would've worked. Those FA Cup games showed what they were capable of

But how terrible were the back 4 at the start Wassy? We were a million miles off the pace. Eg every shot outside the box was going in against us. How often does that happen now?

Its ironic that this team is vastly superior to last season's and yet its this side that might go down.
