If a German or Argentine did that against England in a World Cup final would they be saying the same thing then?
Absolutely agree.
That said, if the boot was on the other foot and, say Gibbs white did that and scored, would we call him out on it? Obviously would not happen because mgw is not a cheating know.
Is it the ol' big head influencing us. You don't win, if you win cheating.
I was just gonna post similar, Brentford fans would be crucifying him if he’d even moved the ball that far but I doubt any of us would be defending him, unlike their fans who are licking his arse, need them and that club out of this league
Toney is entitled to seek an advantage. Brennan was becoming offender for seeking penalties when not fouled. If the referee was fooled then more fool him. On this occasion it was more fool us. Complaining does not change it. Just get on with improving mentality and not switching off and don’t keep giving stupid fouls around the penalty area when you are not very good at defending them.

Toney bent the rules a bit with the free kick and was hoping nobody noticed.
Forest bent the rules a bit with FFP and were hoping nobody noticed.

Difference being that Toney won't get punished. Toney cheated and I believe that there is no other interpretation or mitigation whilst Forest's transgression, if proved , should have some mitigation.

Have we had an apology after the Bournemouth fiasco? No
Will it make the PL show some sympathy towards us about potential points deductions? No
Would any of this mattered if 11 Forest players learned the basics of how to defend a set piece? No
It will plant a seed subconsciously with the refs that we've had rough treatment by VAR. Next time there's a contentious decison we might get the rub of the green.
And anyway, why shouldn't the cheating git Toney get bit of heat for what he's done? Us keeping the story running keeps his unsporting actions in the spotlight.

I doubt he will get away with it again.

It's a bit embarrassing for the club to appeal to the referees association over this, what done is done and nothing will change the result. Get on the training pitch and put over to the players to be more alert in these type of situations and stand up for themselves more!

At the end of the day all we're asking is was what Toney did is it within the letter of the rules and to be honest everything I've read about it in the rules it's not. So I would say we just want to make the refs hierarchy aware of different things happening against us and keep an eye out. Like you say nothing can be done about it now but perhaps refs can keep an eye on Toney in other games.

Forest have done the write thing in bringing it up.
Firstly, it will be clarified is this against the rules.
Secondly, it will clarify if VAR can intervene or not.
Thirdly, every other club and every referee will be watching Toney in future - he will never be allowed to get away with it again - which means less goals for Brentford.

TBH JW, I doubt any other team would find themselves in a situation where the keeper has positioned his wall so badly and wrongly to give Toney that option again anyway!

Tbh I would lick my lips at the sight of that, even now. It's pretty easy to curl it in from there I think. And you don't have to worry about the keeper as he is covering the other side.

Thats not the point though.
The officials were made a laughing stock as Toney did this on their watch...........they were blind to it all.
And that will cost Brentford ahead at some point I am sure.
