Yes that is a good point Bomber.
CHO for example would have been much better on the post instead of being in no man's land.
So so poor when we look back on that incident now and it could have been so easily avoided.
I think CHO was there in case of the short pass to then better the angle/get the ball across goal but still very odd. We just don't help ourselves.

Positives
- We looked quite bright going forward until we understandably ran out of steam.
- Danilo showed why he might be one of the better deep lieing midfielders in League in the future. He's shown glimpses, but yesterday put it all together and was very very good. Needs to do this consistently now.
- Wood was excellent up top.
- whole midfield excellent, dominated in there, which normally leads to points!
- We didn't concede 5.
- Being at the game meant I didnt have to listen to the inevitable Toney w@□k fest.
Negatives
- Our defending is currently awful, either it improves or we could go down.
- Cheats clearly do prosper, though it was obvious from away end what was coming
- zero points from a game we should never have lost.
Where the f@(k do Brentford find some of their so called stewards and security?
They deserve a special mention. On arrival they were confrontational and petty. Made us empty pockets and then asked me to open my wallet! When I politely asked "Why?" He became very confrontational. A steward (not a police officer) put his hand deep into my friends pocket as part of a search. You could feel the tension. They were going beyond their remit in my opinion. Most grounds have sniffer dogs now for pyros and drugs if that's what it was all about.
At the end as we left some stewards were verbally taking the p!$$ out us losing. Unfortunately, someone took the bait and things escalated quickly in a crowded area. The police were brilliant and contained it really quickly, but not before my daughter was pushed in a corner by brawling stewards, I was oblivious as we had fallen literally 5 yards behind and only saw tail end.
As Forest fans -some now pretty charged up- walked down exit stairs, one steward was leaning over rail and trying to antagonise people.
Again , like last season, zero problems between supporters, mixed pub beforehand chat with some Brentford fans etc no problems after that I saw, yet police had to deal with steward related incidents! Absolute joke. Rant over.

Disagree
The second goal wasn’t his primarily his fault - first and foremost it was montiel
Second it’s defensive coaching
Thirdly inexperience
The way he dealt with Ivan toney on through balls, matched him for pace and bounced the c**t legally off his shoulder was top drawer.
However I will eat humble pie on omobamidele.
Showed his pace on a better pitch and also clattered toney. Might not be the full answer this season but shows promise for next.
We might have a hell of a CB pairing in two years’ time
I thought Toney clattered Omobamidele so we should've had a free kick before their 2nd goal
I'm very much more concerned about the here and now on this. I watch the game now worrying that we might concede every time the ball comes onto our half and as for set pieces I cross my fingers and pray.
Whilst it is partly a collective thing, it's also a basics thing individually. Win your headers, mark your man, track the runners, avoid silly fouls, don't put ball at risk near own goal, identify the threat early, dont switch off..etc..
Most of our defenders look really good in parts but then will choose one of the basic errors above to ruin our day!

If I remember right we are the top club for goals conceded from set pieces, as people have said, for all Murillo's attributes he lacks height and so could really do with a Worrall or McKenna next to him. Obviously as a team we lack height when you look at managala Dominguez etc
On players, I really am annoyed Toff has lost his place to a big useless lump and Mangala is not indispensable

Organising the wall at free kicks is the responsibility of the keeper. Turner and Mangala for a stupid challenge take the blame for that goal. It is obvious coaches need to do more work on how we defend corners

Or a boly. Or niakhate. Or Felipe. Or a Taiwo and Sangare back there helping out at set pieces.
Let’s be honest, Omo isn’t (yet) a dominant CB in the air and most of our big lads are either injured or at AFCON. I think Omo played because of his mobility against toney but I’d bet it was a close call.
The toff decision- I would guess- is purely down to the lack of transitional pace in the side when Aina elanga and Taiwo are out. (And we still need more of that even when they are all back).

Our new set piece coach not got round to defensive walls yet then ?
And Toney .....what a cheating prick.
Ref was too busy worrying about us stealing a yard or two on throw ins to worry about important stuff though.

I hear you but I'd rather we had a defender who can defend and cross a ball, Tavares is woeful, but quick I suppose...

What grinds my gears is pundits and journos who instead of calling Toney out for cheating they are lauding him and calling him smart and savvy for what he did.
If a German or Argentine did that against England in a World Cup final would they be saying the same thing then?

IMO, if we had had somebody on the near post, that would have allowed them to come right in on goal with no chance of being offside, should they have looked at that option, surely?
From my playing days, we were always told that you use the second player in the wall as the line between near post and the ball, which means the first player (furthest outside) should provide cover for any swerve around the wall. Toney saw the first player was probably where the second player shouldve been, hence why he moved the ball half a yard. If CHO has stood in the wall rather than where he was, Toneys effort wouldve either hit him or gone into him.
For me, Yates was right to question Turners decision. For Turner to give the thumbs up puts the blame firmly on his own shoulders.
I'm going to be controversial now...........So far both Vlad and Turner have not been up to the task. Why not give Hennesey a shot? He can't be any worse than what we are using now

I hope he is, he's the third choice keeper in the 25 man sqaud!
