Depends when they were due to be paid originally...

Yes, but as I said earlier, that's just the player payments. It also says we're behind on payments to agents and it doesn't say anything about when they'll be paid.

Whether we like it or not it *is* a story and the club shouldn't be allowing it to happen.

Agreed, reread it and it says the bonuses were due end nof July. Never a positive sign when payments aren't going through on time.

The agents thing doesn't sound good either. Be good to hear from the club on this one.

Wassy agreed say someone like a club responsible CEO? Also, if I recall did DM leave due to unpaid bonuses?

It doesn't say player bonusses are late, it's says they are due end August.

Agents, yeah, fine, a couple of days late......the biggest companies in the world pay late, unfortunately I'm on the receiving end of that business nuance annoyingly regularly. It does not stop me doing business with those companies and it will not stop agents from dealing with Forest.

"Mail Sport understands that those who left the club this summer were due to be paid their bonuses for last season, which include Premier League survival payments, at the end of July."

It says they are now going to be paid end of August. If I was paid an annual bonus a month late I'd be pretty pissed personally. Nor say companies don't do it and it's probably just a payroll error or misunderstanding from whichever released player has leaked this. However, non payments is the top of the slippery slope when it comes to football club issues.

I'm quite surprised some are just brushing this off.

The Mail aren't the most reliable source, granted, but even so. I think I'm one of the more forgiving posters on here regarding how the club operates but this has irritated me because it just shouldn't be allowed to happen. Or, if there are genuine legitimate reasons as to why it has happened then the club should come out and say so.

I don't just want Forest to perform well on the pitch I want them to be respected and admired for how they operate off it as well. The club should aspire to be held up as an example and model of how clubs should be run and it seems like they're a long way from this at the moment.

Given the list of players who have left and therefore due their bonus a month early, I'd be pretty delighted if I were them to be getting anything at all for staying in the league. None of them helped much. You and I are probably living paycheque to paycheque....so yeah a month late would matter. I doubt any of them are, they'll live. Also, by 'leaking' this to the press it is significantly more legally/contractually reprehensible than a late payment.

Anyway, it's a complete non-story designed by someone to cause another shite-storm in a tea cup. Who gives a shite about players that don't play for us anymore and agents who fleece us constantly. In fact, the agents trying to get their 'bonus' money out of us might be inclined to do more deals with us to help push through the existing payments on top of new ones. Another weird business nuance.

Well the article essentially implies our current players were also expected to be paid in July, not sure why only released players would get them then so if so will likely rile some people up.

This is not good business practise, well run clubs do not have these types of stories leak out.

Lodi helped a lot and Navas a fair amount too. And it's really not the point that they're already rich. If we've contractually agreed to pay bonuses by a certain date then we should honour that.

No offense sausage, but I can't believe some are giving this any credibility.

'Mail Sport understands'. What else do you need to just chuck the paper in the bin? No source named, no evidence. What exactly is the club supposed to come out and say? So sorry Mr/Mrs Dontfriggingknowwhoyouare. We take your complaint very seriously and will address it as soon as we can, but our apologies, we're busy trying to buy a goalkeeper for the new season. Give us a couple of weeks would ya!?

If there is something in it and someone is actually going to take us to court, then Forest better not say anything as it could very easily compromise their defence.

Seriously, why are some of us so quick to believe the negative crap peddled by the worst newspapers in the world for their moral obligations and lie to us every single day about everything. It seriously baffles me, and don't get me started on how some Tweet on Twatter can send everyone into a complete tail spin.

Newspapers don't name sources.

Look, hopefully it's nothing and I'm fully aware there plenty printed that is not true. If it isn't true the club is welcome to sue the newspaper for liable.

However, I maintain that a well run club does not have these stories leaking out, full stop. As a standalone issue, it's obviously not a big deal but for me it's just another one to add to the list of issues in the financial part of the club.

No sponsor for a year, massive staff turnover, weird transfers. I'm not one for irrational complaints similar to SR. However, these things are beginning to both concern and irritate me.
