Things are frosty, hopefully they can work it out.
I would put Steve's chances of staying at 50/50.
To say that is a shame is an understatement. What is making the relationship ‘frosty’. I can see Coops was probably responsible for wasting a huge amount of money on Wood and Shelvey but he did keep us up which was the objective and a decent achievement considering we scraped promotion through the play offs.

Would imagine that the frosty thing goes both ways.
EM reckons Cooper under achieved and made mistakes.
Cooper reckons EM undermined him and was actively looking for a replacement justifiably or not.
Yes hope they can work it out. Both are better together.

We need to realise that it's a two way street.
Steve is also not happy with certain things.
It's not a one way street with EM not being satisfied with Steve.
Hopefully they will work it out. I don't think we will have to wait long to find out.

I know I bang on about it but he's more than just a bloke who does the tactics, he really gets the club and the supporters, he's embedded himself into the culture of Forest and Nottingham, it's a massively rare thing to find that in a manager. He's a perfect fit for us, he's growing as a manager as we grow as a club. I know there's unhappiness behind the scenes, how could there not be when his job has basically been offered to anyone who will listen? The fractured relationship between the two of them needs to be mended fast. It'd be a disaster if Cooper is either forced out or allowed to leave without a fight.

I won't lie, I was one of those thinking maybe we should've twisted when we were on that rotten run and particularly after the Leeds match. However, now we've stayed up I hope EM and SC can sort out whatever differences they have and help the club move forwards and upwards.

Agreed mate and you don't bang on about it.
For the record I think it's the best thing for the football club if they can resolve their differences and Steve stays.

Manager and owner is the most important relationship at a football club. They don’t have to be the best of friends but there needs to be mutual trust and respect. It’s been a tough season and we don’t fully know what has happened behind the scenes. Murphy and Syrianos were early casualties and in hindsight the job they did doesn’t seem that bad with Niakhate Mangala and Taiwo having a strong impact when it mattered most. After they were sacked, Coops signed his new contract. I have no inside knowledge but it could be there was a conflict there. The subsequent January window appeared more unstructured and panicky. If EM is insisting on a recruitment department working upon data driven principles has opposed to the manager controlling it all, I don’t think you can blame him despite Coops clearly being a brilliant manager for our club. This is speculation but let’s just hope they can resolve their differences and work together. That have both been fantastic for us.

What cooper has done is amazing. Yes he was well backed but so were Chelsea. Chelsea with similar levels of recruitment have shown how difficult it is to mould a new team together during the season. They have had a huge drop off and will finish the season massively down on last season position. They have also spent twice as much from a much stronger position. 6 points off Chelsea is a huge achievement.
Cooper has in fact improved the team by 7 places up the pyramid- from a position of having half a team. He has moulded a team spirit in 9 months that has eclipsed Leicester, Southampton, Leeds and Everton. He has formed an amazing set of results at home which belies our stature and experience of premiership football.
We are a gnats whisker away from west ham who have by far a better squad of players.
We beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Brighton, spurs in the cup, notable draws with Chelsea, Brentford and the last team to take points from Man City.
We got to a cup semi- final.
We had the second largest injury list in the league.
Cooper is manager of the year for me - no one could have done a better job - if we lose him to palace it would be a travesty. He has adapted and ground out results we needed.
Surely EM can see he has a brilliant manager?

I see where you are coming from OZ and you listed all the positives but you left out all the negatives.
EM knows Cooper is a very good manager but does he think he can get an even better one and also is Steve willing to patch up the differences?
Like I said earlier this is a two way street.

Just to put it out there, if you believe Paul Taylor
He is adamant that Coops hasn’t been interviewed for any jobs, and is so emotionally invested in Forest and wants to take us forward.
I guess Steve and EM need to sit down, let the emotion calm down, and agree a plan forward.
EM is a clever man, and will know the importance over the next few years of what togetherness through the whole club can deliver.
I would be astonished if EM doesn’t recogise that what we have created with Coops over the last 18months could take another 20 yrs to find.
This journey certainly has another couple of years to go as a minimum. Nothing last ps forever, but now is not the time for change,
