Anyway who said anything about Cooper being sacked?
There are other ways to leave a football club like by mutual consent for example.
By definition, mutual consent implies Cooper has agreed to it. You think he'd battle through this whole season to just give up in the summer?
If he wanted to move to a new team it would also make way more sense for us to get compensation rather than just let him.go. Potter went for 20m+ for example.
I just don't see why he'd choose to leave without being sacked?
Said it elsewhere. If we stay up, Cooper is Manager of the Year for me. Especially with ridiculous injury list.
Just spent a fortune on renewing STs, and I would much rather have Cooper at the helm than any likely replacements.
A rookie coach, new sqaud, little time to prepare pre-season, the disastrous start and then this monstrous injury list. I think he'd consider he's done ok if we stay up.
That is one way of looking at it or one side of the story.
There is another side too.
A Dutchman has now entered the frame.
Any further clue Sniffer?

I'm a massive fan of Cooper and he will be remembered forever for getting out of the Championship. I'll be very happy if he stays, but I can also understand if he goes. If he does then I will be supporting the new manager, whether I agree or disagree that he is the right person (or better than Cooper).
I agree up until the bit about understanding if he goes. If Cooper is forced out after keeping us up, I and I believe the majority of fans will be very angry. I also think we'd be a laughing stock to other teams.
Whoever the new manager is, unless he has instant success the chants for Cooper will be there straight away.
I get that, but won't be joining in. I'm sure that if Marinakis does decide to change manager then it will be carefully considered. He has shown enormous restraint this season.
I don't care if the media or other fans think we are a laughing stock. So many other clubs are. All season people have been laughing at us for the amount of signings we have made!
Yeah I mean it's more just another reason not to do it, just feels like we've got such a good feeling around the ground at the moment. Atmosphere vs Brighton was surely the best it's ever been. I just don't understand why you'd want to give up that advantage and create likely divisions within the fanbase including inevitable anger towards the owners (in the event we stayed up)
I do agree that the end of the season is the correct time to change manager if you are going to do it. Best options available of new managers and allows any new manager to do pre-season and make any changes required early.
The good feeling around ground is very valid. It has been incredible at the City Ground (and the few away games I've been able to get tickets for).
The fans also loved Lamouchi, until they didn't. But we never got behind Houghton.
I do think Mr Marinakis will know this and it will be considered when Cooper is replaced (maybe a long time away). I was lucky enough to be in the Directors box recently, and Miltiadis was there and he definitely does care.
Its going to be interesting that's for sure, and above all I hope the good feeling at the City Ground continues, whatever league we are in and whoever is the manager. Hopefully Cooper in the PL.

Sabri was popular but this is just incomparable. Cooper is as popular as Klopp, Pep etc. It's an asset which we should be utilising, we're lucky.
I wonder whether Leeds fans would prefer they never sacked Bielsa? Pretty interesting comparison as they have had similar impacts on the club and fanbase. The difference being that Bielsa was at a different stage in his career and was very much stuck in his ways to his own detriment. Cooper hopefully still has time to change that (and I suspect if he leaves another team will benefit)

hmmm, defo not ITK but im guessing:
Marcelino - Think he was linked before? But could be one of the dozen Oly have had recently
AVB? I'd hope it's Sérgio Conceição - Has a 75% win rate for Porto.
Marcelo Gallardo - Had an insane record in his 400+ games for River Plate
Pascal Jansen - London born Dutchman whos doing really well with AZ in the Eredivise, maybe even finishing above Ajax.
depends on ambition but thats my wishlist anyway.

Look at the Leeds situation, years rolling the dice on manager after manager to get back into the Premier League, eventually they get Bielsa who finally gives them an identity, not just on the pitch but off it too. Unsurprisingly they get promoted not long after he gets the job. However, they go through a bit of a rough patch adapting to the Premier League, sack Bielsa and now 12/18 months later look at them: they've lost their identity, players have lost the relationship with supporters, they're back to rolling the dice on whoever will take the job, Marsch, Gracia and now Allardyce.
There are a lot of similarities with us and I think people should consider that before wanting us to roll the dice; staying in the Premier League isn't the be-all and end-all, especially when it's the first season up and you're among the favourites to go down. Sadly I suspect it's too late now and we'll make the same mistake Leeds did in getting rid of the best manager we've had in 20 odd years.

I don't think it's possible for me to agree with this anymore than I do!
The comparison between us and Leeds is so similar. We should really be using them as a case study for what we can do differently to avoid the same scenario.
